 |
|
Rode into work this morning (Cbr 600 F3)
like a numpty I had left the choke on 3/4 of the way (16 miles, some fast/cruising/filtering).
Realising my mistake I pulled the choke lever and the rev's shot to 5,000 rpm!
I put the choke on just enough to bring the RPM back down but a few times on the way pulled it all the way back and it was still rev'ing high (kinda like cruise control!).
The bike was riding fine before although it has spent a good week or two sitting outside
Could a spirited ride on the choke cause any lasting damage?
any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Best regards

I think lasting damage is unlikely, but something might have got stuck due to it being in a certain position when it got hot and expanded.
Check everything is working smoothly and lubed when cold, and you should be fine. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

Get on a private bit of airport runway (the motorway) and give it a good couple of minutes of top gear full pinnings head on tank screaming down the road. |

What does this actually do? Not disputing it, just wondering what it would do to fix it. |
