2 Stroke issues

I have an old TY175 that i used to compete in Trials with. I stopped just over 4yrs ago and the bike has been sat in the garage untouched.
Recently i tried firing it up, a quick clean of the carb and new petrol it fired up 2nd kick.
2 problems, one the clutch doesn't work, obviously sticking plates thats not a problem as i have spare plates.

2nd problem, it will rev quite freely in 1st or 2nd gear, in fact it works as normal in those gears i could quite happily compete on it tomorrow as i only ever used 1st or 2nd for sections.
But as soon as its in 3rd or higher the engine just bogs down as soon as you open the throttle, you can potter about at just over tick over but open the throttle and it bogs down.
Is the clutch causing this?
I did think it might be the crank seals but if they were knackered then it would do the same in 1st & 2nd wouldn't it?

Maybe not. First and second are easy gears , even for a worn smoker stroker.
It may have to rev more for the same power if the piston,rings or crankcase seals are slightly feiuked.

Putting it in third and higher needs lots more lower down torque.....

If its smokey...ier...then check the compression.

I would check the lube system , a gummed up oil pump could cause havoc and I'd make sure the tanks clean and jets blown through

Has the exhaust been cleaned out recently? Air filter OK?
