So went for a quick blast on my motor-bicycle last night got about 10miles an it conked out

no lights/ ignition...nothing...nadda zip!

luckily was close to my brothers so dumped it there to attack tonight.

checked the kill switch, normal fuses under the seat but they were all cool

not even the ignition lights go on...

is there another by the fuse by the relays or anything?

my plan is to walk the beast back home tonight

Check the battery voltage.

Could be that your reg/reg or alternator failed and you ran out of electrickery.

You don't need to check the reg/rec yet. As said, check the battery voltage, but before you do that check the battery terminals where the leads connect, you can do this just by lifting the seat (and removing the battery shroud if it has one).

If you don't have a multimeter:

Check first the battery leads. If they are tight follow the red lead to the solenoid. On that solenoid you'll find a 30A fuse. Check the fuse. If it's ok and the other fuses are ok follow the black lead from the battery and find the end where it's fixed to the engine. Is it loose? If it's tight follow the skinny black lead that is spliced into that black one from the battery. It should go to a single spade connector. Wiggle that and see if you get any life out of it.

If everything listed above is ok then you probably have a dodgy ignition switch, by now you really need a multimeter.

If you put a spare 30A in place of a blown 10A you better swap it back quick. If there's a short in the loom you'll melt it into a soggy blob.

it already had a 30a in Shocked - an the spare 30 was locked an loaded

will be promptly changed to a 10a when i get home

so im guessing there is a short somewhere, i reckon i will check the headstock that looks a prime suspect
