My bikesafe writeup: https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=291597
I should note on my ERS which is a DSA syllabus I got top marks for use of speed and may have been riding to the conditions in the NSL, which may have included the cruising speed of your typical german saloon on the motorway section. ____________________ Bandit. does. everything. |

Synopsis: they're "police" bikers because they're bikers who wanted a license to ride like utter stunts and get away with it.
Emulate their example. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

They tell you to ride as you normally do but the recommendation is to tone it down a bit.
Back in the days when it was free, there was one complete muppet who was riding around at 130mph (to him, this was toning it down...) but to be fair, they didn't nick him. He was helped by the fact they were expecting an undercover journalist and thought he was it.
Still didn't give him the certificate, though... ____________________ FZR400 (blown engine), ZXR750 (blown engine), ZX6R (accident), CBR600 which had engine issues after which I learned to change gear..., CBR900, CBR924 (stolen), CB600, CB1300 (everything blew up), BMW K1300GT (written off, hit from rear while stationary), Bandit 1250 for a couple of months, Triumph Sprint ST 1050 (nicked) and somewhere in there, I wrote off a Ducati 748 at Cadwell. |

TL;DR - Don't completely take the piss and they probably won't be too fussed about speed limits being exceeded here and there.
They seem more concerned about improving riding technique based on your usual riding on these days than ranting about speed. Obviously though, if you go hurtling through a 30 zone at 100mph on the back wheel; they might stop the assessment . |

Speed it's self wasn't an issue for mine - providing you were doing it 'safely' - personally the policeman's riding (as opposed to his talking) I considered ruder than I'd normally do - though I would typically have filtered more 'assertively' than we did on the day.
I think you'd have to do something really REALLY stupid for them to actually try and bust you - it'd look pretty bad on them if they did.
The cop I was with was fine behind me at low triple figure (cue confused looks from other road users ).
But then he did do 75 in a 50 (despite saying they stick to the 50s) and managed to go around the right hand side of a car on a blind bend. |
