Can anyone tell me their experience or share any knowledge on the two said intercoms. Narrowed it down to these two as they're within budget and have good reviews.

I'll be using it for

1- To talk with the OH when she's pillion (we'll be buying the above intercoms as a pair), is it clear and easy to use?
2- Friend will also be buying one once we've decided which one we're getting, so how are they for talking to others who you're riding with. Is the range any good?
3- Listening to music while riding and receiving phone calls while on the move, easy to pick up calls and end calls etc?

Budget is £160ish for a pair, could stretch if it's worth going for something better for a bit more money.

I've got the interphone one, mainly used for music while I ride, not used the intercom yet. Phone is easy enough to answer bit fiddly to call out to different numbers other than last call made but I should imagine it would be easier if your phone has better speech recognition. Volume level is the big bug bear as the wind noise from my lid makes it impossible to hear if your on the bypass, but that may just be a cheap lid letting too much wind in.

Hi Az, not that I can bring anything constructive to the table, but thought I'd share my experiences with the Q3 - highly recommend if your friend will end up buying one as the Q1 isn't bike to bike compatible according to Scala's list :

I have found the Q3 to be exceptional, and exceeded my expectations (especially as I had experience using Nolan's BT built in set, which was far from cheap), i ended up buying a spare for my pillion helmet...it's that good. The bad side is the price, however Saverstore.com (after a quick google search) do the multi set for under £220 - delivered.
HTH.

Looks like the Q1 is defo' off the cards then, will have a look around at the Q3's & see I can find a pair a bit cheaper, as ideally want a good setup and the Q3 sounds good going off of your opinion and other online reviews.

Thanks Smile Thumbs Up

My dad and I used a rider/pillion scala set to communicate on our trip around Europe the other year, they were fine up to maybe 50-100 meters so range only became an issue when I managed to turn onto a motorway by accident.

Can't remember which ones exactly but if you search for scala review you'll find my write up with the model name.

Found it - clicky Smile

I think you had the Scala Rdier Teamset Pro, you seemed fairly positive about it. They're also within budget so will definitely consider it, thanks Thumbs Up

I have the F3MC and use it for my pillion (g/friend). The sound is clear, works on a naked bike up to around 50mph, after which I can't hear her screaming, battery life lasts forever, pairs well with a phone (which is rubbish).

My recommendation:

It's a good piece of kit for a pillion but now she can nag the cr@p out of me. Wish I'd never bought the d@mn thing.

It's well under budget and I bought one for £100 at a show.

(first off I want to add that I use silicone custom ear monitors with my helmet, but having said that)... I have used my Q3 at around 150mph (on private road officer), and I can hear and be heard, so IMHO it's more than practical for motorway comfort... At the NEC, I believe they were about £130 if memory serves me correct. So not far off, but that is for a solo unit.

Hello

My friend and I have just done 4000 miles around Europe and we had the interphone f3mc , great bit of kit , clear up to 100mph and I wear ear plugs , radio is a bonus , very easy to use , we spoke all day and they lasted really well , needed charging towards the end of a long day but I did it from my bike , I didn't read the instructions to set it up .
It also connects to other makes of heads sets as a phone , so if your group has others you can still connect .
I have a early Bluetooth head set from 8 odd years ago and I'm going to upgrade to these for my girlfriend and I

You won't be disappointed .

Cheers
Chris
