I have a sat nav and a V6 bluetooth intercom that I use when I ride with my son. The problem I have is the boom mic and speakers fitted to both of my helmets are really uncomfortable when fitted. I am therefore looking for something like a D shape earpiece with boom mic that has a 3.5mm jack to replace the fitted speakers.Has anyone seen anything that might be suitable???

I just cut a couple of recesses into the foam of my helmet for my V6 headset and ran the cabling under the liner. The mic doesn't have to be in front of your mouth - I have mine at the bottom of the chinpiece on my Shark (the helmet has a wind protector across the front).

All I did was to take the velcro pocket off, draw round the headphone then use a scalpel to cut round the line to the required depth, scored criss cross inside the circle to the required depth and use a flat bladed screwdriver to remove the excess foam. Dead easy. Thumbs Up

The problem I have is that the speakers need to be lower in the shell than the recess. Must have an odd shaped head.

The problem I have in both helmets is tgst the speaker recess is too high and there is insufficient shell to attach them to in line with my ears. Must have a funny shaped head. That's why I could do with in ear speakers with a boom Mic. I did see a referee headset once which has a 3.5mm Jack but can't find it now

I was talking about making your own recess in the hard polystyrene under the liner that are large and deep enough to make the earpieces lay flush below the liner itself so that they cannot be felt.

You have to position them fairly accurately but it's quite easy to do.

Yesi did this in my old helmet but in my caberg my ears line up between the strap anchorage and the edge of the poly shel so there is nowhere to make a new recess.
