Hi guys

First accident - wildly unexpected

I was waiting at a t junction , checking to leave and a woman (wearing sunglasses when it was cloudy) drove straight into me.

She cut into my lane and was at quite some speed. I had some left knee injury but the ambulance just got rid of me despite complaining of pain .... I'm now waiting in the hospital to see someone about my knee.

I'm not wanting to make a false claim like some ppl. I genuinely feel knee is bad. I can't stretch leg fully. Just want to get advice , dos and donts. I've been advised not to contact insurance Untill speaking to a specialist lawyer by friends already?

Bike is probably a c/ d category ....

Note: police came and the lady did admit to fault immediately without hesitation .

Another important point to consider.
Was she a Fitty or a Munter?

She'd have been texting or doing some other shit w/ her phone. See it every time I'm out. Funny thing is it does seem to be women more. Not by a massive margin though tbf. Anyway, I hope your leg's not too bad. Gws.

hope you gws

as soon as you can call your insurance they will claim against hers unless you have her details in which case phone them

a personal injury claim will take longer as they have to wait 6 weeks to see if there is going to be any lasting damage before a specialist can see you to talk about costs

If fault is admitted, it's got nothing to do with your insurance unless you want to make a claim against your own fully comprehensive insurance and get it recovered from her later. All they'd be interested in is rinsing the other insurer for providing you services at an inflated price.

You need to speak to her insurer to get the ball rolling. Write down everything about the accident now, don't wait until they start arguing the toss.

If you get any hassle or delays you probably should speak to a specialist motoring claims outfit, for example:

https://www.whitedalton.co.uk/
https://www.mc-ams.co.uk/

(many other parasites are available)

Your knee injury could be life changing. Don't expect a quick compo payout on it.

The most important thing is that you must post a full report in the Spill Counter.

like roger says it may not look much but that knee injury may be a life changing thing

I had just started work after being clear by my consultant after near 12 months due to a bike accident

because of my knees and leg I have had to stop again as I have found I cant use ladders and cant maneuver about like I used to

I cant kneel down even with a pad under my knees as my knees hurt too much and lock into position so cant get up if I do

and cant climb ladders as I cant put all my weight onto just one leg Thumbs Down

See if you have Legal Protection as part of your home insurance. Currently using mine following a hit & run off my bicycle.

Hi guys

Just done a rough doodle . Note: this is not an exaggeration of my positioning or the lady's . It the most accurate I can be!

Yellow is the box and the line she was taking .

Red is me and the line I was planning to take before she rammed me out of the blue

As soon as I went for the left check, she was Infront of me .... She was evening coming at a much faster speed (relative to a normal speed at a junction). It's her dark sunglasses in Cloudy weather.... If she hadn't cut my lane, I wouldn't be typing this .....

Should be clear cut then unless her story changes after she's had a chance to ponder that you were on a bike and therefore must have been doing something dangerous and illegal.

Have you spoken with her insurers yet? Got any witnesses? Pictures of the scene? Were the vehicles moved before Dibble arrived?

None of this should matter and it probably won't, but better to be prepared.

You are right in that the PI claim takes longer if it is done properly, but No, they do not have to wait 6 weeks for anything, providing the injury is assessed as being worth a minimum of £1,000 and the risk assessment is done, it will go onto the fast track process and the letter of claim can be sent out.

I've contacted some solicitors to deal with it .... They're going to be sending forms out, one agreed to come see me ( I'm yet to confirm there is no call out charge)

I personally think they will better deal with it and I can look after my knee and attend appointments?

Anyone disagree ?
