Just got a Sony SW3 just to see what they're like, seems cool so far.

What are other people using for custom watch faces? The stock ones are a bit crap, I'd prefer ones that at least show the weather too.

I like that it has WiFi & GPS so doesn't always require a phone, wish it had an IR port though. I always wanted one of those remote control watches as a kid

Jogging & bike rides no longer require a phone for Strava.
Maps on the wrist.
Easy access to notifications.

Was cheap enough @ £82 just to see what the crack is, not usually a watch person to be honest. My normal watch is a Casio F-91W

Pedal bike.

Battery is about 2 days, pebble can do a week I think. There's no doubt smart watches are pointless for most

I also have the SW3. Got it in the Amazon New Year sales.

Battery lasts a day or two depending on use but only takes half an hour to fully charge or a few minutes for a useful charge. I just plug it into my pc at work (micro USB connector).

Main use is to easily read emails and texts without having to get the phone out all the time.

Also use it so that when in bluetooth range of the phone I don't have to enter a PIN to unlock it.

Useful as a timer on occasion.

Can do Google searches, send emails and texts by voice (more accurate than my typing).

In conjunction with Google Maps on the phone you can use it for sat nav - it vibrates when there is a direction change as well as showing it on the watch face.

Smartwatches are like email used to be when it first came out. People couldn't see the point until they got it and then wouldn't want to do without. They just make some things that little bit more convenient.

It also tells the time.

Technology is seen as disposable these days.

I bought mine to try out the technology and was surprised to find that I miss having the convenience of it if I leave it at home.

Personally I'd never pay more than a couple of hundred £ for a watch - traditional or digital.

As for Swiss made - well I do like Toblerones.

Since the speed computer thing has died on my pedal bike I might do that while I use the Strava app. Not sure how useful it would be for navigation on the motorbike, the screen is tiny.
