zx6r loud noise

Hi there when I started my zx6r g2 yesterday in the wet there was a slight ticking noise on tickover when started. I commuted 60 miles no problems just slight splutter on low revs .

On way home the noise got worse then realy loud to point of bike sounding like a chopper and affecting power. .

So I think exhaust blowing got home checked noise is coming from the right side exhaust headers but can't see no cracks or holes .
Would this be a gasket gon .

Just order 4 new ones and will try have exhaust off later to check . Do I need to remove radiator or not . Any other ideas if not the gasket or cracks in pipe.

Hi thanks reply matt. Do I need to remove and take out the rad or can I just move it out way to remove headers
so don't need to rebleed system and refill .

Quite often radiators can be undone at one end and swivelled out of the way.....unsure about yours. The pipe unions are quite strong so you should be able to just undo and move to the side slightly, or up and out of the way without disconecting any pipework.
Be careful with the exhaust studs

Saturate the nuts and studs with plusgas or similar before you do anything.

Hi there so stiped it down rad left in just moved slighly got the headers off and found the nearest one to the right has its bottle neck snaped off ..
not sure if can be welded or not its not rotten or rusty just clean break but plate got to sit flat after . Will look on ebay . Do i need g2 wot is 99 headers only or will 2000 fit also

You mean the exhaust stud?....with one end bigger than the other? If there's enough of the stud showing, you need a stud extractor...like this:-

Na not the stud sorry if got wrong name . All the nuts came off ok when i lifted the headers out one end bit was broke . Its the bit that looks like a bottle neck sleave the bit the copper gasket sits on and the other side the clamp that bolts up to manifold its the plate thats broke.

So copper gasket / plate / clamp bolt .
