Depenmds on the plastic.
Do you need it back? Just leave it in there, might interfere with the fuel gauge, if fitted,
Any reason you can't snare it and fish it out with a loop of string down a piece of pipe? ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

As said, depends on density of prastic.
If it's an air-filled capsule type thing then it will probably 'float'. But fishing out may be difficult depending on fuel level and shape tank position of filler neck etc..
It isn't a massive job to whip the tank off and roll about on the ground with it in the hope it falls out.
You can then help your odds by making a half pipe out of something, shove it in the neck of the tank and roll the tank around until the float lands on your half pipe then slide it out like a chute. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |

It may or may not float. But for the cost of a tank of petrol Id be filling it up and finding out, before faffing with removing the tank (or even before posting the question on here tbh). ____________________ Bikers make great organ donors - add your name to the register
