Could anyone tell me if it would be OK to use intake and exhaust valves with 5.5mm stems if the original valves had 5mm stem?
The engine is Brazilian made Honda JC30E engine.
Thanks

These valves(Chinese clones) are exactly the same as original Brazilian ones except for the stem diameter. And cost 10x less, literally...
Boring out valve guides you mentioned sounds complicated and expensive. Would polishing stems down to 5.1mm do the job?

Would you happen to know how critical for the operation of camshaft is the flow of oil through the channel shown in the attached picture? The reason I asked is that there is an over sized barrel that will fit my crank case, but the match is not perfect in the camshaft area(see attached picture). My thinking is that although the amount of oil through that hole will be reduced, the amount of oil from all other directions should be enough to keep camshaft going. Does that make sense?
Thank you

Thanks , it sounds reassuring as I didn't seem to miss any obvious points to consider.

Somehow didn't get that... Question

Not terribly important point -

..they are ten times cheaper ...crappier steel

chinkojap (as you call it) marvels of technology are so cheap in the UK because of considerable help from the government in providing cheap means of delivery. Brazilians are unable to do that yet. But in Brazil chinkobraz wares are as cheap as chinkojap on Taobao or Aliexpress...
Cheers

Oh, now I see what you meant by

You were talking about cylinder's liner length and diameter. These dimensions were the first thing I checked and it's all good. The only potential problem is the oil galley above the camshaft. It was obvious to me that partially blocking one of the 3 galleys ought to increase oil pressure, but my guess is that the increase would not be huge enough to brake the gasket. The blocked galley is leading up while 2 other galleys going down. My guess is that flow to transmission will increase and that's about it.

A bit surprised that nobody who had actually done this type of swap had responded. I can't even find on the Internet a coherent write up of such swap on a CG engine, one of the most abundant in the world. Lord Lucan story is easier to understand....
