 |
|
Well,
after all the thrills of a fork seal that just would not budge I'm after another fork (second hand preferably).
Problem is, ebay only has pairs
could anyone give me any leads on how\where to source a single fork?
I would take this opportunity to convert the cbr600 f3 to USD forks but as its not a straight swap and I need the bike as backup transport more than I have time to diddle the conversion at the moment its going to have to be just swap out the fork
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Best regards

Probably only pairs as it is normal to replace a pair as a matched set. You could wait for someone like you selling one. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |

Had a similar issue with a friends VN800, the seals hadn't been replaced for about 14-15 years and were leaking badly. I'd said how easy it was to replace them without stripping the forks down and proceeded to get tore in to 1 with the screwdriver.... almost 2 hours later the stubborn little bastard released its grip (and that was tapping the screwdriver with a hammer)..... OK so after about an hour I started thinking the seals were a different design, but it turns out they were just stuck solidly in place |

You'll be lucky to find a single fork but you may find a cheap pair with one damaged one ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Gone done found a CBR 600 f3 left hand fork.
Eventually pitched up on ebay for only £60?!
Called round a few breakers a while back and they were a bit silly though.
Wanted £100 for a second hand stanchion (brand new after market part £112 @ weemoto) and > £250 for each full fork...
Maybe understandable as they would be left with a second fork that's harder to shift but kind of pricing themselves out of the market there.
Anywho.
Don't give up, just takes time
600 back on the road soon. Much excite! |

Used forks are in big demand..esp for popular bikes...so they can fetch quite a bit. Breakers probably get their prices off eBay now too so there's not as many bargains that you used to be able to find in breakers yards
