For me, the issue of other immigrants while obviously connected to overall numbers, has absoloutly nothing to do with this issue. I am specifically talking about the refugees from Syria, yes....I know....."...but if you let them in.....they'll all want to come...moan, moan."
To Quote HS Truman in his 1945 closing session address.....There's a time for making plans , and a time for action - THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW "
Perhaps other immigration could be suspended until the most desperate are sorted out. "Most desperate comes first". Lumping all imigrants in the same pot is not helpful, and part of the reason the Syrian refugees are not getting the help they deserve. As they say.............."it's the behaviour of the majority ruining it for the minority"......... I think it's down to this mass xenophobia the UK seems to be suffering from right now, which in turn is mainly down to the gutter press.........people just look at everyone that's from a foreign country and think they're the same.......isn't the idea of political asylum that people are assessed individually...and/or family by family? Not having enough room is probably what this shitty Tory government and their puppet masters wanted you to belive....there was planty of room when they wanted to import loads of Euro workers in order to drive wages down wasn't there? If the Govt put as much time and effort into immigration as their own bulging bank accounts, it'd be sorted in no time. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Refugees are to claim asylum in the first safe country. Why do they skip all their safe neighbours? Kuwait? Saudi Arabia? Iran? Turkey? Oman? Qatar? And take all the risks going to mainland europe?
They cannot be refugees, they are simply migrants, and should be offered no special privileges to enter Europe. ____________________ Daytona 675R Road - 5EB R6 Track sold

I think the Syria case is a bit different, it's a civil war remember, if they went back to fight, who do they fight for....and how do they know they will win? Besides, these refugees are the peaceful ones, all the ones that want to pick up arms and kill their compatriots are already doing so..........or are dead. I would imagine most of the people leaving Syria are opposed to both sides of the argument. They want the problem to be sorted diplomatically rather than by a battle of attrition. IF you lok back to the start of the revolution, it was mass, peaceful protests, it was only when the regime came down on the demonstrators as hard as bricks that it got hijacked by extremists who had no problem recruiting those that had just had members of their family slaughtered in the streets.....or had their children, (or witnessed neighbours children), arrested and vicously tortured, their bodies returned battered and bruised and with varios "limbs" missing. ____________________ Space Is Deep

Neither.
They go back and they say "Hey! Guys! How about we all stop being such dicks to each over trivial tribal and doctrinal differences, try not to take it all so seriously, and just get along despite our differences."
That's how they'll fix their dusty armpit and turn it into a secular, compassionate state. It's how Europe did it. That's why they want to come here now, to reap the benefits of our ancestor's hard work here, rather than doing it themselves there.

They're the cowards and the quitters, the grasping spongers who are biting the hands trying to feed them.
They're the hypocrites who demand a home and a living from strangers, after abandoning their own neighbours to destitution and death.

So after it blows over, do you reckon the fleeing people would willingly go back their homeland? ____________________ I'm Sam; Northern, Ginger, Lover

Ok, lets take the case in question.
I'm not happy with the way the left wing media has used this image of the drowned boy to turn public opinion and beat a stick at the government to force it into submission.
The boy in the image was a typical example of a Syrian refugee apparently and not an economic migrant.
Now bear this in mind, he had safely lived with his family in Turkey for 3 years and died when his father (on poor advice from his sister and their father) tried to take them across to Europe via Kos, so he could get his (the father's) teeth fixed for free. His sister was offering to fund his $14,000 treatment, but could only send out payments of $1,000 at a time from Canada.
Now his family have died, the father is returning to Syria (yep, you know, the place he's fleeing from) to bury his dead.
That, M'lord is an economic migrant, not a genuine refugee, he was already in a safe place and put his family in danger for financial reasons. The media however, have dressed this up that there are hundreds of thousands of poor persecuted people dying, trying to flee Syria just to get to a safe place. In reality, anyone who can pretend to be from Syria is now heading for Germany, the UK or other richer EU countries for economic benefit. They are not walking, they are trying to go by train.
The Islamic extremists must be rubbing their hands with joy. I can't imagine that they would have realised this is an easy way to get combatants into the UK etc..
So, once the EU has taken in these few hundred thousand, I presume the flow will stop? Or will everyone from any third world country start marching up to to El Dorado for their house, clothes, healthcare, education, money, food, bills?
This is a very dangerous move, even more so because it seems the media have forced this decision by being far from truthful to the general public. We are now in a position where we are going to take in thousands of people, many with no ID, just because they say they are from Syria. We have no idea who they are, where they have come from, what they have done and what their intentions are. Most appear to be young males, who seem to think that once they have their foot in the door, the family will be shipped over.
A very dangerous and naïve decision, forced by a left wing media.

Yes, the clip where his sister said that she was trying to send him the $14,000 to fix his teeth, but as she could only do $1,000 at a time, their father suggested he head to Europe to get them done.
Why is it not credible? It was his sister who said this, not some made up source. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

If it exists, you'll want to make a copy as it's not part of the narrative that's been decided on.
Canada are blabbing that he never even bothered applying there, so it looks like he was leaving the safety of Turkey for the luxury of Germany. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Don't people go all over the world for medical procedures? I need my teeth ripping out but I don't want dentures, I want Implants. I can't aford to get them done here so will probably go to Hungary or Thailand. Hungary are known to be one of the cheapest places to get your teeth fixed. I'm not sure what one bloke getting his teeth fixed has to do with anything but there you go. Maybe it's just one of those individual stories the racist media like to dig out to desperately try and uphold their views ____________________ Space Is Deep |

I understand the point but why do people focus on individuals when talking about thousands of people and use their example as some sort of indication of what the other refugees are like? Do we not have our fair share of Lowlifes amongst indigenous Brits? I wouldn't be surprised if there are more lowlifes per thousand people amongst Brits than Syrian refugees....nein? And having lowlifes amongst us already doedsn't seem to make the same people judge everyone else from the UK the same way......as they do with these refugees Or are people that think this way so thick that they think the only lowlifes in the UK are those that came from elsewhere Shirley not
Every race, every country has it's share of deviants IMO. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

What's wrong with feeling sad about seeing film of a small dead child being dragged from the beach? You don't have to have a "bleeding heart" to feel for that poor father and what he's been through. That's just a human thing.....it's one of the things that seperates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Feeling sorry for those that have lived through misery is a good thing in my opinion. Sitting by and, not only doing nothing, but slagging these poor fuckers off is a bad thing. I bet there are people desperately trying to dig into that fathers past now so they can say...."oh......he tried to get dole money once........ah, he got done for shoplifting 20 years ago.........oh, he married his wife when she was 14".....etc etc ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Was the story of the dead child being washed up on the beach....and the loss of his siblings and mother.......after being left for dead by the human traficker at sea....after having to get through Turkey....after losing his house and everything at the hands of ISIS in Kobane.......not true?
Was the boy killed somewhere else and then planted on the beach?
Are you suggesting the story was exagerated in some way? I can see it would make a "good" story for a news team, it encapsulates the suffering and innocence in one image...... but I don't doubt it's authenticity. Surely thats the real story here? The suffering, and not the "media using a dead boy for gawd knows who's ends" nonsense?
Don't forget, this boy is only one of tens of thousands of children killed because of the Syrian Civil War, the loss of civilian life during this conflict has turned a new page in the history of the horror of war. ____________________ Space Is Deep |
