Peugeot Ludix Carb/fuel issue

Hi
I'm fixing a 2006 ludix up for my nephew. The problem I'm having is if I start it with easy start it starts but obviously only runs for a second. The float area is getting fuel but it won't fire, I feel there's a vacuum issue or I've plumbed the pipes wrong. Does anyone have a ludix or a pic of the carb on the bike for me to compare?

So fitted another carb, if I unplug the auto choke it idles nicely and will rev. Though it will only rev up to half throttle then it bogs down. Any ideas .....
There is no mixture adjustment either

Got it to rev all the way yesterday. Then nothing, took the carb off and fuel poured out the fuel line. So I am confident the diaphragm has stuck. I will replace and try again

Ok so will now idle for 2 to 3 mins then die. Guess it's not getting a healthy fuel supply to the spark.

I've ordered a new carb
New jets
And a new reed.

If this all fails I'm really running out of ideas.

Any other suggestions welcome

Reed turned up today and jets. Will update shortly with progression if any

Worse than ever. New reed won't start. I could see the standard jet was restricted so replaced it with a new 56 and now it doesn't start at all

Ok so more tinkering. Fitted the new jet which has improved the situation. If I blow consistently into the breather on the carb whilst turning over it fires up. I can hold it with the revs but then it cuts out and won't idle. On the plus side the bike will fully rev although it's very smokey and still hesitant on the revving up

Ok so I got it reving had to hold it on the throttle. Got it nice and warm and gently revved it until it was going some. I breathed constant firm breaths into the carb breather. Since then it has started and idled well or certainly a huge improvement.

I have also disconnected the rear corroded lights which oddly could be connected?

A new carb and fine tinker seems to have resolved both starting and revving issues

I was a bit concerned as I've read so many pages on forums of people giving up and not resolving the issues I was very frustrating lol.

Just an update. Bike is going well and passed it's mot today.

I have noticed when the battery drops by a quarter it starts having running issues. Just worth checking if anyone had these issues 😊

To be honest I think it's more down to me starting and stopping it so frequently it has had chance to charge. Then when you do start it, due to all the lights running constantly it does keep running as it's not charging enough.

When I charge the battery it's all good. It seems to be an issue when the battery is low.
