Motorbike 'dolly'.

For moving a bike around in a restricted space when the only stand on the machine is a sidestand, I'm thinking of getting a 'dolly' off ebay (371348409590) for fifty-odd quid. Anyone got one/thoughts/criticisms, are they shite or worth having ?.

Cheap and Cheerless.
I have two devices for moving my bikes.
One from Hein Gerike that's like a flat plate with four lockable castors. It fits under the centre stand and let me effortlessly 'glide' a BMW K1300 around in my garage. Or swish it close to the wall.
The other device is my Abba Stand. But that pins into the swing arm pivot and then you lift the bike up using an 'over-centre' principle.
Both are good.
The limitations of both is where my floor is not completely smooth (I poured the floor myself)

On the smooth parts they work fine but on rough surfaces they make me curse like a priest.

The device you're looking at seems reasonable for the £££

I have one of these, you need a level floor .... but it's simplicity to use and lets me fit the bike flush up against the back wall of a single garage so i can still get a car in.

I wouldn't want to try that by hand with 200kg of bike.

I've been looking for something like this too.

Moving house and I'm not sure my garage is wide enough to turn the bike round easily so want a dolly or something I can ride onto to swing the back end round.

Been looking at some cheap discs, low friction, caster driven etc.. nothing has really jumped out at me.

The ABBA sky lift looks fantastic but a bit pricey, especially as I already have an ABBA stand.

A cheap dolly/mover will probably do me fine

Anyone got any tips for getting a smooth garage floor?

Mines ok, however it seems to be part old path and part concrete laid when the extension was build, the join isn't great and the path part is bumpy like you'd expect from a path.

That was the first to come up on google, they are made by many brands for around 100 quid.

My garage is a normal car sized one in a block of many, with the entrance at bottom of a hill. I have got extremely good at doing tight, left hand, up hill U turns - very easy to roll the bike in backwards.

An Abba Stand (and glide trolley) will be about £150. It is excellent for rolling the bike around and that makes whipping a rear/front wheel out simple.

If you intend paying proper lolly then a 'work stand' type may be more value.

The abba stand is probably a little wider than Pete's Motorbike Mover though and you may be pushed for floor space. ???
