I dropped one of my bikes off at an MOT station for it's first test yesterday. When I called to collect it this morning, I was informed that according to gov.uk, no vehicle could be found with that registration and VIN. Consequently they were unable to proceed with the test.
Has anyone else encountered such and if so, how were things sorted?

The V5 is good proof of its existence on one of their systems, Shirley?

I had an MOT on Wednesday. Apparently there was a new MOT system implemented 2 weeks ago and it's glitchy and often goes down. I had to be issued with an emergency certificate, maybe your details have been glitched out (temporarily you'd presume)

Yeah, a new MOT system has been implemented. It only likes the most recent version of the VIN - the one on my GS threw it completely, but since I had a previous MOT with me, they could use the old certificate reference to look it up.

Shouldn't be a problem, when the vehicle isn't recognised, you have the option to create a new record.

As others have said though, last week they introduced a new system and it's a pigs ear of a thing, so could be that option wouldn't work for them - either that, or they haven't got their head round the new interface yet.

Anyway, it should be easy to overcome, take it somewhere else, or call the original tester and ask them if they've managed to find the right button.

The bike was supplied with incorrect plates by Bennetts Motorcycles Barnsley. The original keeper rode/pushed the bike around blissfully unaware for around a year.
It's been off road and garaged ever since I purchased it from him as scrap/salvage. It was only when a MOT was sought, after restoration, that a problem was identified.
Ironically, the bike could have been used without hindrance from Her Majesty's Finest as a bike with the incorrectly issued registration number is taxed, tested and insured!

I bought a car from Stoneacre once (don't judge me). Took me over a year to notice that they'd buggered up when changing the plates over to ones with their name on. V5 had the plate ending in a V but the plate on the car was the same but ending in a U.

I took it back and they tried claiming it was the DVLA that fluffed up, until I pointed out that if I put the plate in insurance websites a completely different car comes up.

If there was such a thing as a copper with a bike, somebody might have got in trouble here.
The one ending in G is a Daelim VJ125
The one ending in F is a Keeway RKV125
