Some idiot knocked over my bike!
I came out of the shop to find several groups of people denying it. Then people drove off. I'm outraged!
The bike actually seems fine. Couple of little scratches. But what could be the potential consequences of this later in time? And should I get it serviced ASAP?
Thanks |

It happens, has happened to me too. IMO no need to service it or panic. Just pick it up. ____________________ Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...

Check the handlebars for shear-stress fractures.
Someone reversed into my bike and left it on the ground, just around the corner from my house.
So I didn't really notice until the next day that there was a small fracture in the handlebars. I managed to get away with it for about, oh four days @ 11 miles to work and back per day (so over 80 miles at reasonably tame speeds in London traffic) until the damn thing actually sheared right off I was left with the gearing flopping about in my hand, and the brakes still on the other side.
Luckily that was also around the corner from my house, so I was going slow, and managed to slow down, stop and wheel it home.
... but five minutes earlier, I had been filtering through rush hour traffic over the Canning Town Flyover at 50mph : could have been VERY messy.
So if you are at all concerned about something "doesn't feel right" any more, either look at it, or get someone more experienced to give it the once over. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Thanks for the advice. Will probably take the 30 mph roads tomorrow on my 10k commute into London and get a better idea for how it feels. I'll call the mechanic if it's weird.
One of the people that denied it and drove off was in a 4x4 (note to self, never park behind a 4x4). Some people don't open their eyes before getting in the car! Or after for that matter! |

As a Londoner, I'm generally surprised if it doesn't get knocked over. Suck it up, move on.
Did it before to someone else, left them a note (I didn't do it, it was a mate of mine who was drunk but I was involved etc...) The guy was so happy that someone owned up that he asked for a negligible amount of money and offered me a free lunch at his really nice restaurant which cost way more than the damage!
My opinion is the world is too full of bad stuff - just do good stuff and spread a little love. Makes the world a better place. ____________________ FZR400 (blown engine), ZXR750 (blown engine), ZX6R (accident), CBR600 which had engine issues after which I learned to change gear..., CBR900, CBR924 (stolen), CB600, CB1300 (everything blew up), BMW K1300GT (written off, hit from rear while stationary), Bandit 1250 for a couple of months, Triumph Sprint ST 1050 (nicked) and somewhere in there, I wrote off a Ducati 748 at Cadwell. |

If I'd had time I would have got photos. As for cctv I looked for cameras but there was only one which was pointing the wrong way
The bike seems to be riding as good as it was , nothing unusual.
Was angry briefly, but now just thankful there's no damage and that the bike isn't really expensive!
Besides, I saw a cyclist get wiped by a van this morning, wasn't pretty. Made me think of worse things that can happen to anyone using the roads! |
