I've got the M10 version of the SJ4000 stuck to the side of my helmet with one of the supplied 3M sticky pads, works just fine.
You will have to work out which of the arms and bits gives you the best angle but it's not a massive task |

There are loads of generic bulletcams around. Most of them are mince.
https://www.techmoan.com/ has covered a few, all have disappointed.
I'd have considered a Contour Roam 2 but eff that low light performance. OP is asking at the start of October, so unless he's planning purely on Sunday jaunts he's going to need it to work in the dark.
Roam 3 look OK, but the deal breaker is that none of the Contours do loop recording. I consider that vital for regular use. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

inb4 'Safety Nazi'
If you glue a lump onto the outside of a helmet (that is designed for 'safety reasons' to be smooth) does it not make the helmet more able/likely to twist your head off if it catches on something as you are flying through the air in an off?
Just sayin'.
Plus it make you look like a ****.

I just got a Sjcam m10. Quality is good unless you want sound which is pretty poor, but it is cheap as at £60. Techmoan rated it so I thought it was worth a go.
After watching some different videos(video) with different mounts I went for the chin mount partly due to the footage I wanted and partly because I did not want a big mast sticking off my head.

One thing worth noting is that it is built to a buget so is not the most rugged thing, I have broken the on off button on mine and I am currently waiting on a replacement.[/url] ____________________ "no I didn't steal it that's just the way I ride" |

I think this is new camera on the market so I'm waiting to see if it gets reviewed. Its solves that problem of bulk though as it looks like you could mount the recording part on the rear and then pop the little camera part anywhere you wanted on lid. It could be nice and low profile. |

"Agreed", but then go onto explain why you disagree and certain spassification is certain.
I'd guesstimate that the increased risk is potato. |

I have the Roam 2 - I know the GoPro style cameras are popular but they look ridiculous perched on the top/side of a helmet.
Roam 3 looks to be a worthwhile upgrade - the lack of loop-recording is a bit lame, my fix was to knock up an app on my home server that moves/renames all of the video files from the camera when it's plugged in (you have to charge it, so charge it by plugging it into the server) - I have a camera mount stuck to the side so I have somewhere to clip it to whilst it's charging/downloading) - the app can then be set to delete files over a certain age. It's loop recording of sorts! It's certainly effective and hassle-free.
An essential part of any helmet camera is the ability to to turn it on or off with a gloved hand - the Contour is superb in this respect, it has a big chunky slider - that's the only control you need. ____________________ '12 NC700S & '12 CB600F Hornet [Stolen by some dickless twat] Suzuki GT500 shed
