Recommendations for winter gloves please! Seeing a few on eBay for around £20, any experiences? |
£20 seems a bit cheap for something that's going to be really effective, is my first reaction. What gloves are they?
If you're going to be riding a lot in the winter, I'd recommend going for heated grips, even muffs, ugly though they are.
But thanks for the reminder that my current bike doesn't have heated grips - must get that rectified.
Yours faithfully,

Get down to your local bike shop buy some winter clothes and maybe some thermal ones for underneath.
You'll probably get told heated grips and muffs shortly. |

I bought some Richa winter gloves for £30
They're great in dry weather but they are shit when it starts raining as they simply soak up the water and then get very cold.
they are apparently waterproof…
the waterproofing relies on your hands being warmer than the ambient temperature outside for it to work.
be careful what you get ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

I went through a few pairs of cheap winters before stumping up for some Richa cold protect goretex, a bit bulky but warm and waterproof. |

Unless they get wet or/or wind-chilled, in which case they'll get cold because they are cold.
Physics doesn't give a toss about science-woo. Any idiot can get cold and wet and many of them do. If you want warm, dry hands, put an effective air gap between your hands and the cold and wet. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
