Call me a wuss, noticed last night my hands are starting to get chilly and the summer gloves aren't going to cut it much longer...

Recommendations for winter gloves please! Seeing a few on eBay for around £20, any experiences?

i had a mate who bought some thinsulate gloves new on ebay for £16 and he swore by em. they did look nice and warm as well Wink

Get down to your local bike shop buy some winter clothes and maybe some thermal ones for underneath.
You'll probably get told heated grips and muffs shortly. Wink

My commute isn't all that long to be fair, half an hour tops - although it can be at 5am or 9pm depending on the shift.

Revzila is a handy tip cheers never heard of it before. Have thermal lining for my jacket and trousers but will save that for another few months...fleece under the coat does well enough!

Obviously depends on your gloves having enough play in them to accommodate a extra mm or two around your fingers.

Those are definitely thinner, but still help fight the wind.

Other than that I'd look for used-to-be-money second hand gloves going cheap on ebay, £20-30 can net you a £50-60 (worn) set of gloves if you're confident about sizing and don't mind other peoples' hand slime...

Think I might sound like a tightwad!
I'm just a bit wary of overengineering this - the way I see it is over the winter the only riding I will be doing is what I need to get me to work, no fun days etc - so is it a bit pointless spending for another Gucci pair of gloves I will only wear for a couple of months - if I can fudge something to make do for 10 miles.
Cheap thinsulate gloves under summer gloves is worth a crack might try that first then pop into j&s (one up the road from me) with my tail between my legs by November!

Handguards on a TDM would work. All you want to do is knock off the windchill.
Cut up a pair of 1pt plastic milk/oil bottles+duct tape for cheap win.

I bought some Richa winter gloves for £30

They're great in dry weather but they are shit when it starts raining as they simply soak up the water and then get very cold.

they are apparently waterproof…
the waterproofing relies on your hands being warmer than the ambient temperature outside for it to work.

Thin silk / thermal liners are worth getting.
Last winter I got a pair of Richa Atlantic gloves for £30 from sportsbikeshop.co.uk. Warm & waterproof (own brand goretex type stuff) but felt a bit bulky on the controls. Did the job though.

Rogerborg loves muff but I say core body temperature; stick a jumper on and your hands won't get cold.

I went through a few pairs of cheap winters before stumping up for some Richa cold protect goretex, a bit bulky but warm and waterproof. Thumbs Up

Rukka GTX lobster gloves are the best I've used. Not cheap but for the price of a couple of nights out forget your cold hand blues.

The best winter gloves I've ever had were <£20.

They weren't perfect but, they were better than named ones I've paid a lot more for.
