Peugeot v-clic scooter.
Hi all, I'm a newby so please be kind hahahahahaha.
Okay better mention I'm the one in distress because I can't get my wheels running.
Okay this scooter was running mint and put away as usual then next day just won't start. Could anyone point me in the right direction for possible fault finding please. I do tinker a little but now it's time to ask the experts on here. I am trying to avoid a garage bill as I'm at sixth form so don't have much in the way of funds. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you . Loucas.

What exactly is it doing, when you try to start it.

The V-clic is a rebadged Chinese made Qinqqi scoot, so most information about Chinese GY6 clone scooters applies (this opens up a whole new world of parts and tech advice).

Your plea for help is too vague. What is happening when you try to start it?

Buzzing noise?
Nothing at all?
What did you last tinker with?
Does it turn over on the kick start?
Does it still have the side stand switch?
Did you forget kill switch?

Hi,
I've checked the kill switch and auto choke. The side stand switch is disconnected and there appears to be fuel where it should be. There is a spark at the plug.
Could the rectifier, CDi or coil be faulty?
Thank you.
Loucas.

You have a spark so issue is probably related to fuel/air.

Pull seat bucket out.

Check airbox connection to carb hasn't fallen off, it's a bad fit and used to disconnect itself on mine, when it did it would be a cock to start.

Inlet manifold will be in front of your face when you pull the bucket, look for tears.

Pull carb out and clean it.

Not likely on a new bike (but not entirely imposibru).
What year, how many miles, What sort of service history?

Battery
Capacity, Voltage sufficient (Maplins AVO meter £9 odds).
Terminals are clean and tight.
Cables connecting battery to bike and bike electrical system clean and tight.

Ignition system.
Small Low Tension
Wires clean and tight (connected).
High Tension
Big thick cable from coil to plug clean, secure, intact (no cuts, crush, wear)

For starters (no pun).

Hi,
Cheers for that. The spark is blue but faint if that makes any difference.
Other parts you mentioned seem fine but will double check. I think I'll go for your suggestion of a blockage in the carb. I'm just puzzled as to why it went from running mint to this without any warning. Gutted too as need to get to sixth form. Okay fingers crossed and thanks again.
Cheers.
Loucas.

Hi MCN,
Done those checks and all good.
wr6133 has indicated could be fuel blockage in carb.
All ideas and suggestions gladly accepted.
Thanks.
Loucas.

Is the sparkplug wet with fuel after a few attempts at starting?

If it isn't, this may indicate fuel is not getting through.

Is the electric start still spinning the engine over at a good rate, or is it being slow?

It just got cold. We are now entering spontaneous battery death season.

Cheers.

I'm a big fan of simply trying a new plug in. Especially with smaller engines. They get a hard time and aren't expensive.

At least you've had the gumption to ask before changing the coil, HT leads, reg/rec and wiring loom and hopefully it'll cost you little!!!

Hi,
Just picking spark plug up, £3.49 can't be bad. Will be fitted in next half hour or so. Fingers crossed. Will be chuffed to bits if it's cured.
Cheers.
