If you've done enough damage to render the alarm broken then what's the overall condition of the lock itself, internally that is.
I wouldn't count on that alarm to do anything other than possibly wake you up in your half asleep state in the middle of the night when you think "ah fek it, winds set it off or something" because we all ignore car alarms, house alarms and well no one has ever stopped me fiddling about the locks on my bike regardless of i'm actually locking up with my gear on or not.
"Broken alarm m8, stopping it from going off all the time on me lunch brake like" seems one of many possible responses if anyone did ask why someone not wearing gear was fiddling with the locks on a bike parked up, and what proof could the nosy person provide otherwise?
Anyway..
As above if you where happy before "doh" moment then as you where, or do you want something different? |

hi all
got the xena to work again but still would like to get a new one, the xena one goes off if a mouse farts next to it. ideally would like something which will only go off if the lock is physically touched or wheel moved
cheers |

I use an Abus disc lock alarm. £65 from GetGeared, so maybe a touch over your budget, but I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere.
It does the job, and it's not overly sensitive. It's just sensitive enough so that it will only go off if you move it (e.g. you try to take the lock off or move the bike). It has never gone off any other time.
Hope this helps. |

Was the broken disc lock a xena?
I thought the internals in those were replaceable? ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
