HDMI and USB switch help

Hello mighty Geeks of BCF. I'm due to put my TV onto a wall mount and I've had a thought that it'd be much better to have little hubs for the hdmi and usb devices so only two cables go up to the tv. This way it'd look much neater I think and make the ports easier to access.

Thus, I searched a bit on Google and found that a powered hdmi hub is the best option and I found a cheapy on eBay here I need/want it to allow full HD pass through and for 3D signals to go through from my 3D blurays through the PlayStation. Would this be up to the task?

Similarly, with regard to a USB hub, I found this which is a powered unit again and claims to support USB 3.0.

Any hints, tips and recommendations would be welcome.

Ok... you will need a high speed HDMI cable so that you can transmit up to 4k resolution and 120hz for 3D (60hz per eye).

Something like that as there are all different models of HDMI cable, you want 1.4 spec.

Equally, you'd need to make sure the box/switch does the same job which from reading it:-

Very helpful Jayy thanks. I've just used HDMIs from the pounds hop and the like and they've always seemed OK to my non professional eyes but I'll take your advice on board and upgrade my cabling too.

Any opinion on the usb hub or should that simply work?

I've pressed fire on each of those hubs so I'll make sure to post and let you know how they work. Pretty much, if it can play 3D through the hdmi one from the PlayStation and a 3D movie off a hard drive through the usb hub, I'll be happy

Maths isn't my strong point but I always took it as...

100 mbit / s = 10mbyte / s

Like my 24mbit/s ADSL downloads at a 2.4mb/s rate

So 2.5gbit/s would equal = 250mbyte / s

That was my logic, unless my logic is flawed, which it usually is.

The box is fine mate, I was actually correct just the logic in which I worked it out was wrong.

VBR on Blurays is anything from 10 - 40mb/s - That box is fine (250mb/s), if you got the right HDMI cable then all is good.

Update for anyone interested.

Items work well. Auto switching of the hdmi works and the usb hub works and allows me to see both my external hard drive and my drift camera through the same port.
