Ingenious for sure but I doubt it would work that well on a tight nut and bolt or one that had restricted access.
Handy for bolts self tapped into chipboard though
lots of them on my old bike Laughing

Yeah but that's not adventurous enough.

One must be a bit Bear Grylls these days to get that full-on 'satisfaction quotient'.

When would you be in a situation when you wouldn't have a spanner but you would have a threaded bar?

Top tip? More like top bullshit Middle Finger

Because I've got time on my hands, I thought I'd actually try this, before pronouncing on it!

I tightened an 8mm bolt into a blind hole, on an old engine casing, using a ratchet wrench, I tigtened it as much as I could without bursting a blood vessel, so reasonably tight!

I put the 2 nuts onto a 150mm long, 8mm bolt, without the use of a spanner, and it worked, no problem at all with no skinned knuckles! I didn't use the spanner for extra leverage, as per the video!

I then tried to undo the fork pinch bolts on one of my bikes, they're done up to 23NM, it didn't work. However, I would say a lot of the problem here was not being able to excert any downward presssure to stop the the makeshift spanner slipping off the nut!
I also think the reason it worked in my first test was the bolt I used was new, so all the edges were sharp, unlike the old pinch bolts!

It is not difficult to get the 2 nuts to clamp on the bolt, without using a spanner!

It's just a trick really, if you were stuck in the middle of nowhere with a snapped spanner, the chances are you woudln't have 2 spare nuts and a bolt anyway!
