I'm building a PiFi which supports squeezecentre, airplay and DNLA and also has purty analog VU meters. There's a DAC in the offing for the pi0 (https://shop.pimoroni.com/collections/raspberry-pi/products/phat-dac) so I could make it smaller too.
Also looking at building a smart mirror type display.
Currently have one controlling my cheerlights too, although that's due to go onto an arduino YUN.
