Help!! Review/information needed for Lexmoto Arizona 125cc

nipped out to the shop today on the bike, & it seems to be needing a lot of strength to shift up gear, no problem shifting down, just up :/

hadn't been ridden for 24hrs, & was wet from overnight rain, & i only rode it for 5 minutes, so i dont know if it's just a cold start problem, i have my son untill sunday night so won't be riding it again untill the monday morning commute so i'll update again after i've given it time to warm up etc.

Had my first kiss the road experience a couple of days ago... ouch lol...

I was only doing around 15mph, going around a corner that I've been around hundreds of times, it had been raining so the road was wet, but i have done that corner hundreds of times without issue, however when i got up i had oil on my pants from contact with the ground, so i reckon the fall was due to this.

However, the whole Chinese shit tyre rubber is stuck in my head, which is why I'm posting. i have to admit, it's made me a little paranoid so I'll be changing the tyres before winter, will probably go for some decent nobbly rubber...

Bikes ok, my knee protected the tank from scratches (ouch) bent the gear lever, but that was an easy fix with a large pair of monkey grips, other than that it was just the left hand bar end which got scratched up, so i'll spend a fiver on a new pair, no big deal.

Also, my 37ltr top box snapped off, it's a quick release type, & it snapped the rear mounting pins off the base plate, have melted pin holes in the back of the box & threaded 4 large cable ties through & around the mounting plate, so it's safe & secure, just not quick release any more lol

Nobbly tyres aren't great on tarmac, go for a decent brand of road Tyre and learn to look out for oily tarmac

I saw a Lexmoto Vixen at Morrisons in Cleveleys last weekend, two years old and it looked okay considering it was in the seaside area, only a small amount of rust on some fasteners here and there, I didn't see the mileage. The bike looked fairly solid.

got a little bit of rust around the bolts i had to re tighten on the indicator box & left rear view mirror, so i guess the coating on the bolts is bobbins lol..

not a big deal, but i'll replace them anyway, other than that i've not had any issues, & finally got around to giving it a wash wax & a protect spray (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290954101628?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649)

not exactly acf-50, but it was what i could afford, might treat it to some acf as a christmas prezzie lols

gonna get a (very) cheap alarm for it, but have been warned they kill the battery very quickly, was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with them

Not looking good, just got on the bike to nip to the shop & cant change gear, too dark to mess around with it or even check fluid levels etc, hopefully i'll be able to sort it out in the morning.

either way i'll update here, might be the usual pile of chinese crap after all

Maybe just the clutch cable seized or needs adjustment.

thanks for the reply m8, just got back from the shops & it seems mostly ok now, it's going down the gears fine, but is quite difficult shifting up, but it eased of the more i shifted.

i'd checked for any play in the clutch lever/cable seemed fine, unfortunately this isnt the first time i've had this issue, i mention it in an earlier post in this thread, tho, the last time it happened it wasn'y nearly as severe as it was today,

It's booked in for a service this saturday so i'll ask them to give the gears a good checking over while they have it.

the clutch cable seemed free enough, it was engaging/disengaging the lever thats attached to the engine casing fine, not sure if that was the problem,

hard to explain but it felt like the gear lever was siezed up..

If the clutch actuator lever appears to be fine then the next logical step would be to take the side cover off and inspect the shifter cam mechanism on the other side. Might need greasing, or a ball bearing has gone caput, or the actuator rod is bent etc. If you haven't done this kind of stuff before then you probably have a mate who can check it out in less than half an hour. I'm guessing that it's not a serious problem but I don't know that particular engine.

Righto, dropped the bike of for it's service at a new local bike dealer, (New Bikerz Grove on market St Farnworth) only just picked it up today.

service done £60, had allready asked them to check out the gears, & it turns out the gear linkage was assembled incorrectly, which was causing it to move sideways a little, making it occasionally jam up against a bolt, so they stripped it down reassembled/lubed it using what they hoped where the correct looking sized bolt etc, & it now seems fine, in fact to be honest it's much better than when it was new, as the gear shifting was allways quite stiff.

& i have to recommend the shop, as many would have fleeced me (knowing how little i know & taking advantage) but they asked for no extra money.. I passed an extra £20 over as a thank you, bearing in mind i still only paid £80 in total, & the original dealer (moto centre bolton) wanted £125 for the 4 month service !!!

They don't come with an alarm as standard, so you might help yourself by explaining what you mean by "alarm blanking connector" and why you'd think it would be specific to the Arizona.

This question is relevant to the issue of BUMPing an historic thread in the wrong section.

Triumph do the same when they supply their shit Datatool re-branded alarm on new bikes but they don't give you the loom plug back and don't now allow dealers to supply them - I know this because I had to threaten to smear excrement all over Laguna Motorcycles shop window because they were being a special kind of derp
