Hi All,
I'm looking at going over to the IOM for the southern 100 next year, and was wondering if anyone else has been in the past, on their bikes, and could give me any pointers?
i guess the cheapest way to do it would be to camp, which isn't a problem, but I'm not so clued up when it comes to taking your bike on the ferry etc.
also, anything i need to be aware of on the island itself? any funny rules/traffic laws/stuff i need to carry with me?
thanks,

Once you've got your ferry booked there's not a lot to worry about.
Make sure your alarm's disabled, on your bike, once it's stowed on the ferry.
Camping's easy, plenty of sites to choose from.
Mobile phone signal can be very dodgy, the advice for the TT, was to buy a Manx sim, we didn't and Mrs Suntan's phone had a brain fart!
Take a cheap transistor radio, you'll need it to hear the race commentary, or pay through the teeth to listen to it on your phone, the choice is yours!
Nothing to worry about on the roads, just keep looking in your mirrors, plenty of wannabees around, especially on the mountain road.
Enjoy it! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

After going in march i would say get the manx mobile sim, roaming charges can be brutal.
The bike will be fine on the ferry, i went from Liverpool on the sea cat and on the way back it was blowing a gale, everything bouncing around and even some of the crew looking seasick but none of the bikes moved at all.
Enjoy your trip |

Switch your phone off for the duration, much easier and no one can interrupt your holiday ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |
