I'm liking the look of the new Bonny. Can't wait to see them in the showroom, maybe get a test ride. I'd consider buying one.

With Euro 4 coming,struggling to get an air-cooled motor of reasonable capacity and power through, at least they tried to hide the radiator.

OTR the base model is about £280 more than a W800. It come with all the techno-toys and more power and torques and miles in the tank. I'm not sure that there is any other competition, Enfields aren't in the same league and I have doubt that they'll survive the ABS / OBD / Euro-4-pocalypse anyway.

XJR is available new for £8k - probably less if you dumped your wad on the table and asked the dealer to touch it.

I suppose at least it might make Honda look at their EX pricing..

Torques are fine though, and the power is good for 3 figures. I doubt many (any?) people choose a Bonny on top speed. Who are you racing?

The main thing I don't understand with the Street, is why they didn't bring the power down to 47, up the torque further and then it's A2 from the factory with no restriction. Restrictions confuse people, even though they're pretty straightforward. Hassle innit.

Triumph, people are constantly telling you what they want. They want a litre-class Daytona, they want a slightly bigger Street Triple to compete with the MT09. There is million$ waiting to be made, just bloody do it instead of rehashing bonny lookalikes.

I'd imagine that Triumph asked themselves how many 19-23 year olds are (genuinely) in the market for a new Bonneville, and how many of those would (genuinely) be put off by having a free/cheap 5 minute software map done to reduce the power and obtain their PaddyCert^tm.

In my vision, there's a fair amount of laughter, then they knock off early and go down the pub.

I had a 2005 T100. Lovely looking bike - bloody awful electrics.
And a bit small for a 6'3" 16 stone bloke like me.

Review on bike world motors TV right now, I do think it deserves to sell well.
Too expensive but good build quality and will hold value well.
If it was under £6000 rather than 7000 could be interested.
