high idle

bit of a minor issue

but the bike gets stuck idleing at 2k revs

then drops dunno whats doin it

also its very black around my exaust exit

what can this mean?

Have you oiled your choke cable as it maybe rusted up !

get the carb's cleaned needles , slide's etc. , Something is sticking when u close the throttle.

Only had my carbs cleaned about 3 months ago. (put it on reserve only to block them up Thumbs Down

It's not really bad just sometimes it stays at 2k then will drop to 1.5 after a few secs, don't know if rics is the same?

When my bike is on choke it will rev at 3k then when its warmed up it drops (by itself) to 1.5k.

And its carbed. Dunno why it does this exactly, but there yah have it.

Is that with the choke remaining on ?

What happens to the engine after it has warmed up and you take the choke off say after 10 - 15min ?

Suggestion: inspect your spark plugs as one or more of them maybe slightly loose and so remove & inspect the threading and tighten them up again properly as that might be causing a loss of compression when the bikes warmed up.

In regards to blackened exhaust it can be the following;

Air filter clogged

Main jet to large or loose

choke cable/linkage shaft stuck: causing fuel to be pulled through choke circuit

fuel level to high

float needle valve held off needle seat: clean the float chambers and fuel line and replace needles and seats if necessary

either the choke is stuck or there is an air leak somewhere, check that all clips are tight, all hoses etc are attached, the airbox doesnt have any cracks.

Inspect all rubber bits for accidental screwdriver holes!
