 |
|
After a year of agony riding a restricted NSR, this weekend I FINALLY took out the intake and exhaust restrictors!
Finally I thought I would have a bit of power...great.. 8)
So imagine my severe dissapointment, when I took it for a test ride to find that my top speed had only improved by about 3mph!!!! :o
I'm now only hitting about 65mph(on a flat), and cant get any more than 11,000rpm.
So to detect whether the servo was moving, me and me otherhalf stuck some insulation tape between the servo cable-pulley-wheel-thing, and the servo body.
I then took the bike out to 10,500rpm, and got back to find the tape hadn't moved!!
So as my servo not moving AT ALL, we assume it must be restricted via the CDI.
So is it possible to get the servo moving without replacing the CDI, otherwise why would they have fitted the damn servo to the bike in the first place!!!?!?!!
On an RD125 it is possible to pin the exhaust valve open, so could you do this on an NSR????
Or is it possible to move the servo manually?
If we connect a 12V reverse polarity current, will this move the servo in the other direction?!?!?
Basically . . . H E L P ! !
Has anyone here derestricted an import?
Anyone have any advice!!
Please!!

85????? why do imports only do 85 tops? any techno bods got the answer? I am sure we imp.owners would love to know. is it something to do with the cdi, could a Uk bike owner give me identification marks from their cdi cos i`m gonna check to see if mine is the same. Has anyone tried to change an import cdi for a uk one? |

Hibby, https://www.stanstephens.com/index.htm been there already but me thinks I wont bother tuning the bike, just move up like you did.
Dylan, 13 on the front and cannot redline it in sixth gear, reaches top speed of about 145 kmh downhill to about 9500 rpm. I too reckon the 14 sprocket would help but probably need high revs just to pull away.
Let me know how you get on with the change of gearing.
