Didn't we have a chap on here who asked about what the premium increase would be if he added something to his bike, then got stuck up for the money and invited to prove that he hadn't already modded it. Balance of probability, innit.
I love how the CUE site provides no mention at all of how to get bad details corrected, because of course, nobody in insurance ever makes mistakes. There's a "contact" form that's clearly aimed at businesses who might want to pay them monies, not individuals.
I guess you could write to them, or in the very very small print at the bottom of the CUE site, it provides:
0345 1652803
[email protected]
Best of luck. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Thanks for the help.
Update - God, what a nightmare that was.
It seems (if I understood the pond life on the other end correctly) that she put the wrong year for a claim which meant that she was charged a lower premium than she should have been. When this flagged up they regarded it as trying to defraud them and cancelled her insurance.
No phone call, no talking about it might have been a mistake, just a registered letter saying it was cancelled.
So they wouldn't re insure her. Trying go compare for quotes and then telling them about the insurance cancellation on the phone got basically laughter and the metaphorical 'fuck off'.
So having a hysterical daughter on my hands I phoned around a few of these specialist companies that deal with the 'uninsurable' and finally got her insurance with Acorn Insurance.
https://www.acorninsure.co.uk/.
They were very helpful and even though she (read me) is paying quite a bit more than she was, at least she has insurance.
Fucking kids. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Urk. Glad you got it sorted, but that really does bother me. Remembering exact dates and details for multiple policies for 5 years, you're going to mess up eventually. And having insurance cancelled is a "declare for life" condition. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Definitely complain, in the strongest possible way, following the complaints procedure set out in the policy. You need to get this struck off.
If they're not willing to reinstate then onto FOS.
https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/misrepresentation-and-non-disclosure.htm#a5
It wasn't reckless, it was innocent misrepresentation and because they've already admitted they would have accepted the policy but just at an increased premium then a Proportionate Response would be much more appropriate - thus a charging of an additional premium to get the policy back onto the basis it would have been had they have known from the start, rather than outright avoidance. |

What really hacks me off about this is being asked to give the insurance industry information that's available to them but not to us, then being punished for giving an answer that doesn't match the one that they already knew.
Who benefits from keeping CUE data a big "gotchya!" secret? Not us, that's for damn sure. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
