It's your own personal sense of speed that makes it "feel" like your going too fast.
In comparison to your other bikes, your likely not going any faster.
Keep riding it and you'll get used to it hopefully.
But if you not enjoying it or don't find it comfortable, maybe it's not the bike for you |

I only ever had one bike that felt like too much, a Denco-tuned Kwak H2. But it was really a case of the engine delivered far more than the brakes and chassis could handle.
I think it's just a matter of getting used to the bike again. You only go as fast as you want to, so start slow. Wait till spring/summer (assuming we get one ), and see how you go with better road conditions perhaps. But if after all that you still feel it's more than you need, then go for something less powerful - it's really up to you, and you don't need to be pressured into owning more than you feel you can handle.
I've just bought a Street Triple myself, part of the reasoning being that I think it'll be better suited to the tighter, more 'technical' roads around here compared to where I've just moved from (I'd promised myself one for some time, so it is only part of my reasoning). The Fazer 1000 is ok for it, but I felt a lighter, less powerful machine makes more sense and would be more enjoyable on such roads. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

You do of course earn Man Points for riding a fast bike, but you'd be surprised how little you can actually trade them in for.
If you're not enjoying it, you are allowed to sack it off for something that delivers a bit lower down. Potato-potato-potato. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

First time I took my 350 powervalve to the redline it was so outside my previous frame of reference (going from an 11bhp Russian 125), I didn't know what to make of it.
At high revs, the bike rode me and did so the whole time I had it. You were effectively a passenger from 7k rpm until the next gear change was needed. Just had to decide if that was something I was happy living with. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I found the triple a bit twitchy when I got it but now I feel quite at home with it.
Its not that intimidating to be honest, I've definitely felt better on that than my old TL or R1 however it runs out of puff a bit too soon |

I've had the opposite?
When I got my 143 rwhp race zx9r I was hoping for it to be a chunk faster than the road zx6r I had, but instead I just found the experience a bit 'meh'. |

I thought Striple was a really user friendly bike, I thought it almost steered itself tbh. I had 2 hours on a 2015 Striple-R
demonstrator last year, didn't even want to ride my own bike after that test ride. 2016 will see one on my drive, or I'll
only get out a few times again this year too, after the triple I just couldn't be arsed with my bike for most of the rest of
the year. Wanna swap for my ER6 OP? ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
