The Street Triple is built better than the MT09. The suspension on the Street Triple is much better than the MT09 - the R is another level up again. In terms of riding position, the MT09 is almost like a supermoto, very forward and upright, the Street Triple is like a traditional sporty naked - the facelift model is more aggressive due to lower bars. MT09 has a very minimalist dash, Street Triples is much better. The Street Triple also looks better (IMO) and does better on fuel. Louder induction noise too. I think that as a ride the Street Triple feels more planted and confidence inspiring.
The Street Triple feels wider and like there's more bike under you because you sit further back, so you peripherally see more of it (sitting in the bike vs on it). The suspension setup on the MT09 means that the Street Triple will feel taller due to it not going down as much under load.
Basically, buy a Street Triple. ____________________ Biking history so far-

The problems are caused by the road tax changes.
If a used bike is sitting in a showroom, it's not taxed. In order to test ride it on a public road, it needs to be taxed.
That's the preparation they mean, getting it legal to ride, that and they have to have a mechanic give a used bike
a good once over so that if the wheels fall off while you're out on it, they have covered their arse by inspecting
the bike. That way if you end up sliding down the road on yours, that's on you. The only way to get around this is to use
places with dedicated demonstrators. I took one of Fowlers 2015 Demonstrators out last year, registered to
Fowlers meaning they were of course already taxed. I just had to fill in a form so that if I picked up a speeding ticket,
they would know where to send it. Also to sign to say that if I binned it I had to pay the £1000 excess on their test ride
insurance policy. Then they gave me the keys and told me come back in a couple of hours and to be good...
It's sold Triumph a bike, but I doubt I'll buy one through Fowlers. Their mark up on used bikes is just ridiculous. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Once I get mine back you are welcome to an extended test ride of a few weeks if you want. I'm only round the M25 and down the M2. I won't be riding it till June anyway so have at it. You may get bored and fancy a faster bike. |
