For those of you who have more than one bike, obviously. If you were to be given the ultimatum of having to sell all but one, and assuming you can't buy anything else, which would you keep, and why?

My Fazer 1000 is definitely my keeper. It delivers lots of power through the everyday useable speed range, still delivers a good kick at less realistic speeds and can get to those speeds quickly, handles nicely since the suspension upgrades it's had, will tour with luggage comfortably day after day, and is surprisingly manageable in heavy traffic. It's not great for the more challenging roads up here, bit too heavy and gets to silly speeds too easily, although can cope quite happily if reined in a bit.

The Street Triple is more suitable perhaps for where I live now, and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of pleasure from riding it this summer; it's even very good for everyday use, but it just doesn't have that range of capability that I'd want in a single bike.

I can't wait to hear Kickstart's answer Laughing

GSXR1000 K6 only, if that was the 1 single bike I'd have over all of the bikes I've ridden.

I have more than one bike, but if I had to keep only one it would be my ZX6r , cos it has enough awesome to keep making me smile and is reliable enough to stop me fretting when I use it.

I would miss my little 250 , but the ZX6r is my keeper !

All round power, nothing will touch it unless it costs 6 figures, its decent on fuel, its definitely a reliable enough bike and comfy as hell.

Against the Streets soundtrack and handling... thats all I'd miss.

The Street Triple. Does everything except be a two stroke or a Buell. It does it all so well that I can't imagine wanting to replace it.

I can't see myself selling the 'blade any time soon.

It's done everything I've asked of it and only occasionally sets on fire. What more could you want.

If I was being sensible it would be my GSXR1100. However I'm not so it would be a toss up between my GT and my YR5. The 350 is more fun but the GT is the one and only thing I'll ever restore to mint.

Since we have to keep it running indefinitely, are we assuming fantasy eternal parts availability, or some post apocalyptic mutant chow-down scenario where we only have a blunt rock and the last two remaining cable ties the real world?

Well, if it's bikes that we have right now, then the Tractor in the former case and the Enfield in the latter.

If it's bikes that we've ever owned, Tractor and HN125-8.

GSXR1000 no question. Yes the VFR is more comfortable, has the same power, has shaft drive and hard panniers but I'm not old enough to choose those over fun quite yet. Razz

Without a second thought the ZX12R.

It's big, roomy and comfortable. I love the way it looks and sounds, the induction roar is special. Proper power and torque when you want it and despite all the bollox being spouted in other threads about "you can't ride a 180bhp+ bike on our roads" the ZX12 is easy to ride. Also found that it crosses continents with ease and loves a German Autobahn.

Apart from maybe a 2nd hand 2011 ZX10R for around £6k. That would definitely touch it and is way short of 6 figures.

But... how can you possibly get the right answer unless you ask the right question? Does this not matter to you? Shocked

Well, I've got three at the moment, FZ1-N, SRX600 & XL125.
Bearing in mind that I don't commute, they're all just play things and I wouldn't say any of them are my ideal bike it would be a difficult choice.
Thinking about it, I do enjoy the tinkering side of things, quite a lot, so first to go would be the FZ1, it's too complicated to make tinkering much fun. The roads in my locality are not well suited for it, apart from anything else we get overwhelmed at the weeKends by weekend warriors in all types of vehicles, clogging every road!

Then it would be a toss up between the XL and the SRX.
They're both simple bikes, easy to work on, easy to use and cheap to run, both of them also require more engagement to get the best out of them which, IMO, is a good thing!

A bit of a dilema really but, for the simple reason that it's got a modicum of off-road ability I'd have to keep the XL!

In an ideal world, with only one bike allowed I'd keep hold of an older traillie or a DRZ400E!

Yes, we need Katy to choose...my guess is a 125 2 stroke...possibly a Yamaha TZR125?

I haven't had the F4 for long, but as it makes me very happy I'll keep that.

I'll Keep my 86 KMX 125, it's had over a grand thrown at it so far since I've had it, and the bit's I'm still waiting to have made and fitted will probably end up nearly as much again, once you include dyno time and a lot more if you include the £460 I spent on a tuned 200cc top end.

It's simply not worth selling, now I'm so far into it with spending.

For OP I suggest the Fazer 1000, as the Street triple will sell better and faster and be worth more too.

Paddy, is there any other litre sports bikes that can compete fairly at the same price as a K6 GSXR? What happens when there's no more K6's to go around and none for sale? Can an 06 Blade or R1 be a suitable substitute without losing out on anything?

Oh yes, the Fazer is worth more to me than it would be to anyone else, in a similar way to your KMX I suppose - I've spent over a grand on it to get it how I want it, and it's a pretty old model now too. But it's a damn good bike, even by today's standards.
The whole idea of the Triumph is to enjoy it for a while, then try something else.

The Trophy of the ones I have now. I'm never ever going to be able to justify spunking £13000 on a new bike again so I'd better keep this one. Thumbs Up

The Pan without a doubt, as it's the best all-round bike I have owned, and hasn't even spontaneously combusted. Yet. The Triumph can be fun to ride; however, it's impractical for what I generally use my bikes for.
