Hi All,

can you recommend to me good suspension set up garage South East, Reading, Bracknell, Camberley area?

I need somebody to change my Fazer fzs 600 rear schock and do good set up as well.

It really is a simple job to do yourself. Your Fazer has a centre stand I think so even easier.

What shock are you putting on that needs setting up? If you are just replacing with standard all you can do is set the preload and again, that is very simple.

I recommend GP performance

https://www.gpperformance.co.uk/ It's in Oxfordshire but it's probably the closest place to the area you mention.

You're kidding? They used to have an awesome reputation. What's happened to them?

Also, a rear shock, definately do it yourself, it's like 4 or 5 bolts or something rediculous.

If you are really stuck, go to Honda dealership in Crowethorne(nr Cambo), they have always helped me in the past. You don't need anytone specialised to change the rear shock.

I am going for Nitron R1 the cheapest version.

The problem is I am lazy and if it is not so much expensive I was thinking garage can do that faster than me. And to grease swingarm pivot bolt and bearings too in the process.

I guess I need to man up and do it myself. I do have changed the chain on my own some tome ago including riveting Very Happy

The shock will most likely come pretty well preset out of the box if you give Nitron your riding weight and the type of riding you do.

There are also people nearby who will be able to assist you in fitting it if need be. I'm in Basingstoke for example....

If you're happy to get your hands dirty then perhaps check out Oval Motorcycle Centre.

My Bandit and Blackbird have been serviced there several times... been going there for 2 years now.

You will know that the job carried out on your motorcycle has been to the correct standard you'll learn to fix your motorcycle too.

Harris Performance are north of the M25 and Nitron are Oxfordshire.

Many moons ago I had my bike set up by them. I'm not sure whether it was placebo or not but it definitely felt better afterwards and had far fewer serious head shakes from the front.

surprised https://pdq1.com/ PDQ haven't been mentioned.

I would rate them along side MCT regarding suspension.

Used them to redo my blade settings when I was having some issues with it and, although unrelated, I got them to dynojet my old CBR600F as it had a massive flat spot around 7k and they transformed the bike!! Was smooth as silk after that.

Great guys, more than willing to have a chat and get the work done right

I had the suspenders and a (basic) fuel remap done at Steve Jordan motorcycles. They had a load of race bikes being prepped when I was there.

Suspension made a difference Thumbs Up Friendly service and free tea.

As Marjay has suggested,there are lots of BCF forumites about that would be willing to help Thumbs Up

When I changed the shock on the R1 for the Ohlins I had the swing arm out and regreased everything,which was a good thing that I did as I found one item in particular that looked as though it had been assembled without any grease Shocked

The shock as it arrived was miles out and after setting up the SAG I tried riding it with the clickers as it came and it was in need of more time before I felt comfortable with it.So I looked at the settings that were suggested in the owners handbook and went along with those,which were different to how I installed it.After adjusting the rebound and high/low speed compression clickers,the handling was transformed.With a few adjustments here and there I was much happier pushing it into and out of corners.But this showed up that the front end was now in need of uprating,so I bought some Ohlins fork springs and fork oil.
