So I managed to remove the meta from the ninja a couple of days ago, bridged a couple of pins and got the bike running (when I was told which needed bridged my reply was "is that it?"). Anyway the bike started instantly with no backfire, so I thought it was sorted
Yesterday I went to start the bike only for it to turn over once then the lights all dimmed again, so checked the voltage and that was at 12.48, I found the CBR uses the same battery so I checked the voltage on that and that was 12.55, so I switched them over and the bike started fine. Later in the day the same thing happened
So now I'm thinking it could be a problem with the starter solenoid, which after looking on ebay, it would appear that they are the same for the ninja and cbr (unless that was just a stock image), anyway the question is would I be able to use the solenoid from the CBR for a couple of days to find out if that was the fault all along?
This is the problem I'm having starting the bike (with the exception of the battery going flat, although when the alarm was removed it did start normally without charging): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MD0hPcdNFXM
Tl;dr, Ninja is still fucked, removed alarm, swapped battery, can I use the starter solenoid from the CBR for a couple of days to see if that fixes the problem |
