the thundercat i've been riding has a very whiny noise which is in pretty much all gears. this makes me think a bearing has/is on its way out somewhere..but without opening things up, which is a fking ball ache, maybe someone can help who has had this before

the noise goes away pretty much entirely when i pull the clutch in. it is also less apparent under half/full throttle and when i let off it comes back again.

Chain tension has recently been set and alignment is correct and checked by mr MOT man. It rides fine. I've not noticed any issues at all, second gear (apparently known to be an issue) is not an issue. doesnt pop out/false neutral in any gear and otherwise i can't fault it.. its just the noise is making me worry

quick vid to show you the noise i mean:

I think it is one of the bearings in the gearbox (output shaft is my guess), or the way the gears are machined. Thumbs Up

I'd wait for other Thundercat owners, this might be just a feature. Re-name the thread so people know, we are talking about Thundercats.

By the way, what does this sign tell you?: https://youtu.be/YJSLobwDj_c?t=39s naughty, naughty OP. Razz

Laughing Laughing if i was feeling a little more impatient i'd cut through the car wash on the left of those lights. I'd follow the rules but i suck at u-turns

im hoping its a bearing i can get to without having to split the entire engine apart Sad

Is this a new noise or just something you have decided to tackle? TBH it sounds pretty much like mine always has ('cept your exhaust is fruitier than mine Wink ).

Next time I ride mine I'll give it a go without earplugs and see if it's that loud. Some time around May OK for you? Cool

Yep, mines the same as well.

Can only hear it in lower gears though (probably cause high gears = fast = wind noise) Laughing

Well... urrrmm... it's, y'know.... bad timing... and.... ummmm.... a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Yeah, mostly it's the fair weather thing.
