Its jammed in between some concrete and stones. I was hoping Stump remover worked by rotting down the wood. Then was hoping to just be able to pick axe the top ten inches down.

Any idea how much of it is below ground?
How much is above ground?
Do you want to remove it entirely or just to ground level?

Sorry just added;
What time frame to get rid of it...
This summer or this minute?

Id just like it a few inches below level. The thing is damned deep and I suspect put in properly so maybe with small cross pieces at its base as the post wouldent rock at all even with a foot of earth removed to one side of it.

I drilled a 30mm hole in one, slid a pipe through it and then used a bottle jack to pump it out the ground. Took about 10 minutes.

Failed the foundation course in Earth Sciences, did we? Thinking

Not such a good idea if the post is so solidly grounded that the jack actually pushes the planet out of orbit. :dough:

It is a translocated/systemic hormonal poison, it is absorbed into the living vessels (xylem & phloem) of the stump and moved around the stump, as it does the hormones cause a breakdown of the cells of the plant and this in turn stops the remainder of the plant from functioning and it dies.

Sometimes you need to bite the bullet and do some hard physical work, just dig it out i've done dozens and if you put the effort in, be methodical it'll be out in 30 minutes

You could try running a large wood bore bit down it. The larger the better...

Coat it with peanut butter daily and the local squirrels will gradually eat it over a 2 to 3 year period. Thumbs Up
