Hi guys.
I live in Northern Ireland and im looking at buying my first bigger bike and iv narrowed it down to a GSXF, i like the sport look and this seems to be the best choice. Not alot of choice around here for a2 legal.
I have a choice of two bikes at the moment which im looking at

12 miles since last mot said its been laid up and he hasnt been riding it just looking to sell now
£1150 - slightly negotiable.
no stickers on fairings though which im wondering why ?

or
GSX600F
black
32,000 miles
will come with full year mot
comes with new back tyre also
rack for back box and panniers
£1500 - NON negotiable

Could anyone offer some advice towards these? and which would be best to choose, thanks alot. |

No stickers on fairings means respray or replacement fairings. Check for crash damage.
Older moldels have steel perimiter frame and clip ons, i think this is where you are at. Engine is similar to bandit and many parts interchangeable, but is tuned differently for a bit more top end. Tough but corrosion prone.
Gsx650f is same frame as bandit and not as sporty a riding position.
How many miles do you anticipate doing a year? If it's a toy and you hace a car, it will likely be less than 4k, if you plan on commuting more then 8k a year is common. Make sure you have enough years use in the bike.
Engine needs valve clearance check every 8000 miles, the low miler might never have had this done. It cost me 100 pounds at a main dealership as it's piss easy on a bandit, expect to pay similar. I would get this done ASAP if in any doubt on either bike, along with a proper service (including filters, plugs, oil, brake fluid flush), which can be done yourself for about 50pounds. As said above a carb fettlkng mkght be needed, but you might get away with draining carbs and runnkng some fresh fuel.
fit braded brake lines if the bike is a 96 and still has originals. ____________________ Bandit. does. everything. |
