While you're banging on about that subject can one of you please "sell me" a PC (decent spec) ... which doesn't sound like the planes down at City Airport taking off.

Siggi gave me an old laptop for authoring on, but I'm not a fan of the hunching-over one has do to.

I was gonna start a thread in the Geek Zone about this very subject, but look at this, here you all are congregated in the same thread anyway. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I believe the word would be "comfortable" (somewhere between 300-500 notes I suppose).

But yes, predominantly it's for word processing, editing (on-screen) as well as the traditional type of communicating, listening to music and general internetting. Anything I suppose that includes a webcam, perhaps going back to having a bigger screen too, with integral speakers - cos I get annoyed at these ones falling off the desk all the time.

I just hate feeling like a sitting duck when I walk into PC World Evil or Very Mad

PC world = worst place to go.

Something like this would do the job:

If you're happy with the laptop but not the screen, can add a keyboard mouse and screen to it.

I've got a slightly dog-scratched screen you're welcome to have (may polish out, probably a bit too irksome if it won't).

Alternatively, if you're happy with the size of the screen, you can always buy or make a holder to raise the laptop screen to an appropriate height.

Well so sorry to disappoint, our business is insurance management, if you're looking for a big London salary you'll need to look at the banking industry.

But 40-60k Shocked

If I was in/on edge of London I'd drop a CV but currently I'm on that wage outside of London if you minus the commuting and about 3.5-4 hours wasted commuting Sad Shame.

Blimey, I work in IT in London and I'm on the bottom end of that payscale. Company I work for is notorious for paying below the payscale but I do fuck all all day - literally FUCK ALL.

Go for it, seriously, we're more interested in what you can actually do than some bits of paper you got at school.

I do do my job for the love of it, you'll just have to cross my palm with a shedload of silver to get me to go back to commuting to the shitehole that is London.
