Tyre wear

Hi all

I'm after some advice regarding tyre wear, my front tyre seems to be disintegrating very quickly, it has worn it self down to the mesh over 6 months, while the rear remains pristine, most of my rides are commute at regular speeds, mixture of motorways and A roads, no knee downz of warp speeds involved.

Any clues ?

If it were a car, I'd say the tracking is out. Doesn't really apply to bikes though.

Heavily cambered roads?

One front shock knackered or empty of oil?

Misalignment seems the most likely cause, low tyre pressure would show wear on both edges.

BT021. Normal and suggest you steer clear of 021.

My FZ6 came with BT021 on front and back. Front one wore down the sames as yours on the one side.

Got Bt023 on front and back now, much much better

Thanks for the many replies, in answer to the above.

Mileage in 6 months was round 3.5k, the rear tyre is like new, both got replaced at the same time.

Bridgestone Batalax front and back.
Could be taking right handers a bit too hot, will keep an eye on it

You will get points for that 1000 miles ago.

Law: More than 1mm tread across 75% of the tyre's tread area and as a continuous pattern.

Peds need same rules but only 'visible' tread.

There's more than one type of Battlax. On the Divvy 900 I was getting about 15K miles out of a Battlax BT-023 front, about 10K out of a rear. They would wear normally (a little bit of squaring off). The BT-021 front it came with managed about 6k miles, and the last few of those had handling on the "interesting" side.
