Did my CBT a few weeks ago, went and bought a bike at the weekend.

Certainly one of the more popular and better (from what I've heard) Chinese manufacturers... This bike looks good to!

Keep on top of basic maintenance, maybe check out the tires that come on it (might be made of cake sponge/marble) and you should be find for a good while Very Happy

granted, the dealer did advise me of the service intervals at the time - happy enough with that and they will also do a collect & deliver service at a reasonable cost bearing in mind the distance to the dealer.

Like i said, its a toy for me as I drive for distance and for work, so the depreciation doesn't bother me

Drive alot for work myself and just bought a used cbf125,
The lexmoto does look good,
Read a few negative things though,
Like Rogerborg said check the bolts, as I have read quite often these can be found loose,

Only thing I've ever been told about them was that the gearbox wasn't exactly easy to get on with, an opinion of a trusted (to me) mechanic. The Arrow's the same at the best of times so is no surprise, just putting it out there. That comments was in regards to the Venom and not the Venom SE, they use the same engine so I'd assume the same gearbox design.

I forgot I made this thread about the Venom when it was first advertised, response from llexter on there also.

The MP3 Player just makes me think it will at some point cause you electrical gremlin issues, either that or someone at some point will crash because "trying to find banging tune m8, soz, didn't see you stop in front of me."

I've been tempted a few times to try one since they're so cheap with a OTR package from new but I've had my time on the Arrow and there's plenty of restricted or native A2 bikes that can be had for the same or less than the Venom SE's price from new so isn't worthwhile.

Disconnect the side stand (edit: side stand switch) and change the plugs for NGK.. I sound like a broken record.

Yep, each and every single one of the instructors at the riding school I did my CBT with, anyone I know who owns a bike has also bashed the Chinese bikes and said they'd rather have a 10 year old Japanese bike than a brand new Chinese bike any day of the year.

At the ride school there was a number of Chinese bikes and there was a never ending list of issues sat right on the repair sheets. (I only saw this because I asked advice about why they choose the bikes they use at the school).

Not one of them lasted 2 months past their warranty period. One, the indicator buttons collapsed twice, had rotten wiring, covered in rust in places you wouldn't expect rust, the back end had fallen off, lights replaced several times, batteries not lasting anywhere near as long as they should, etc etc.

I can only tell you what I have come across myself but yes, the Lexmoto bikes do look nice, no doubt.

Well, of all the chinese bikes I've owned, and currently still own, and it's a few now, not had any of those sort of issues. Even the Skyteam V-Raptor, which spent all the 5 years I had it, stored outside. So, here I am, an actual owner and previous owner of various chinese bikes, and can say first hand, not had those issues.

Oh, and, the bikes are ridden in any wheather, so get soaked in the rain, caked in road grit in the icy & snowy weather, and I wasn't commenting on whether the Lexmoto bikes look nice or not.

I had a Pioneer Nevada for 18 months and spent nothing on it beyond service consumables, ACF50, and MOT cost (straight pass). Bought it at 6 years old for £400, sold it on for £450 after passing mod 2.

They don't all fall apart in 5 minutes if you at least put minimal effort in.
