I'm very good at catching speed cameras and have never received a nip for speeding (touch wood).
I'm 2 months away from my license being 2 years old (23 july 2014 I passed).
(I already have 3 points btw)
Hypothetically speaking if I received a NIP for speeding (or anything else) and took 26 out of 28 days to respond, disputed it and waited for court summons, if I managed to take it over the 2 month period and got points outside of the 2 year timeframe, would I get my license cancelled for getting 6 points in two years or would it be 6 points out of 12? |
2months to go until your probation is up?
oh the memories that this brings back.

I had 3pts on my prov licence, then got a full licence.
22months after passing i get zapped speeding.
Court > revoked > redo all tests again.
It is taken from date of offence, but you have to declare date of conviction (i think) to insurance etc etc.
Dont go mental on the roads, it's hard i know.... i really really know.
In 8 weeks you can collect as many points as you want. |
I don't really go mental just speed up and slow down a lot.
Ouch "Swerved disqualification like a boss". So you pretty much gave up your license voluntarily, if you would of got a disqualification with no points you would of been fine.
So how did you end up getting it back then?
I have A1/A2 & Car on mine, what test did you take to get the entitlements back?
It's comforting knowing that if it ever happened I would only have to retake one test instead of both car and bike. ____________________ It says I need a signature, so yeah, here's one. |

From what I've read previously on this subject, I'm inclined to believe that it's the date of the offence that matters, rather than the date of conviction.
Don't take that as gospel though.
Just keep within the limits for now, you're so close to being home free, as it were. There's too much to lose to risk it all now. ____________________ There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk.

Ok, i'm not worried anymore. I'm always such a paranoid person lol.
I'll be extra extra careful for the next few months just incase. Just that today I was going past a gatso and slowed down for it, then straight after the white lines legged it, thats when it kicked it that i'm months away from having my license for 2 years.
If I was to get a NIP, I'd stretch it out and the summons till I turn 24 in November and do the full A test, which I'm going to do anyways. Once you get a full A license, you get A2/A1 which I already have and that'll restore my car license too
Worst case scenario isn't that bad. Apart from the fines and increased premiums. ____________________ It says I need a signature, so yeah, here's one. |

It's all covered if you read the thread.
After a revocation you have to start the whole process all over again from scratch, and re-pass one test in any category that you already had.
Car theory then car test, or bike theory, CBT, mod 1, mod 2 for a bike.
I'd probably re-do the car test, it'd be much quicker and easier.

If you don't speed, especially in places like central London where you're only going to get stuck at the next et of lights it won't be an issue?
If you'd have said you were flying down a country road I'd have said well it is what it is, but 'Just that today I was going past a gatso and slowed down for it, then straight after the white lines legged it, thats when it kicked it that i'm months away from having my license for 2 years. ' is stupid. ____________________ CBT Passed: 30/08/2009, Theory Passed: 31/08/2010, Mod 1 Passed: 6/9/2010, Mod 2 Passed: 13/09/2010. Restriction ended 13/09/2012.
