Hi. My sprockets and chain are due to be replaced and I wanted to switch things up a tiny bit.
I wanted to get a 14T front sprocket, standard size rear:

https://www.banditmaniashop.co.uk/sprocket-rear--renthal-hard-anodised-for-bandit-600-95---04-mk1--mk2-199-530-47ha-673-p.asp

https://www.banditmaniashop.co.uk/sprocket-front-14t-renthal-for-bandit-600--1200-mk1--mk2-289-530-14-684-p.asp

I was looking into getting a DID X-ring gold chain fitted however I am not sure how long it needs to be seeing that Im changing the front sprocket size?

Also, maybe someone here has better suggestions for my bike when it comes to the sprocket/chain manufracturers and models?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

1 tooth less I'd just buy the standard length which you'll probably find will fit no problems but if it is a little slack then you can always just chop a link off.

The internets screams "NO!" but I'm not entirely sure why. I think I need an animated gif.

I think standard length chain will be fine. Katy (Kickstart) has often linked a gearing website that calculates all this out for you.. Might be worth a PM..

https://www.gearingcommander.com/

Edit - which says standard length chain will be fine and sprocket distance is only reduced by 0.14 inches.

Never mind me, apparently the internets is talking about pairs of inner + outer links, so it's only possible to have an even number. I'm a simple Borg, I tend to think in terms of outer links since that's in practice what you'd see and count when it's mounted.

Also: standard length. I've been both up and down a tooth on the front with standard chains, no problems.

For one tooth you need approx 4mm adjustment. It'll be fine.
