Hi there,

As of last Saturday I have been the owner of a lovely Bandit 600. Of course I have been riding around quite a bit. I have noticed quite a few riders wearing tinted visors, either very dark or iridescent. I would really like to get myself a tinted or iridescent visor for the sunny weather.

My question is what are your views on tinted visors and what would the penalty be if I were to be pulled over. If the risk is very high I won't bother. Also note I will only be using it only in very sunny conditions!

Edit: One of these most probably https://tinyurl.com/hd9qtdo

You shouldn't get pulled, as the popo don't seem to give a f**k. Personally I used to wear a (full) tinted visor, makes the world look less scary Smile, but they're crap on tree lined roads and even overcast days.

However since using visor strips (either a sticker or tape at the top of your visor), I've genuinely never needed one.

They block out low sun even in winter (a small head tilt's sometimes required), and stops this from happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYQWeNfGUc4 Very Happy

Thank you for all the replies. I've just gone and bought the black tinted one anyway. Found this forum topic anyway for anyone else interested. https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=312129

As others have mentioned the police really don't care unless you are
a, riding like a loon
b, riding at dusk/night
c, both a and b
When I was green I used to keep a clear visor with me on one of those bum strap things. I soon realised after a few months that I was wasting my time.

I bought an irridium type for my lid, which is excellent in the nice sunny conditions.......

HOWEVER, last Friday was a beautiful sunny afternoon/evening, so i decided to go out for a leisurely spin...... Then i got caught in a downpour, where i could basically see fuck all. Shocked I had to pull over to wait for the rain to subside a bit for me to carry on my merry way.

What i found is that the tinted visor does not disperse the water droplets like the clear one does..........

I promptly went out Sunday & bought myself a nice new AGV lid with an internal sun visor & pinlock attachment Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Problem solved

Daytime use only E marked visors do not go very dark. Really dark ones are a bitch when it comes over cloudy. If all you are doing is sunny weekend rideouts then you'll be fine with a dark visor until you get caught riding like a bellend, at which point you might get done for that as well.

If you're riding in all weathers, pinlock inserts get destroyed by swapping visors even faster than visors do. I've gone through a pile of HJC visors that have got marked from being in a visor bag either around my waist or in my luggage. Internal sunvisor is more use. The one in my skwal is really dark and I am most impressed with it.

tldr; it depends

This, internal sunvisor on my Nolan is more than adequate for anything yeah you don't look like a super leet motogp god, but being able to see in the rain is sometimes fairly handy.

The photo flatters her quite a bit. IRL maybe a 5/10 on a good day.
