This evening when visiting a customer's house, a visitor at a neighbouring property approached me and claimed that I had hit and damaged his car with my van. I told him in no uncertain terms that I had not hit his vehicle. I also pointed out that the damage to his car did not correspond hight wise or colour wise with an old scuff mark on my van that he claimed provided proof that a collision had occurred. I foolishly neglected to obtain photographic evidence even though they were eagerly snapping away.
It transpired that his vehicle was actually a hire car and I suspect that he had caused the damage himself and was looking to pin it on someone else. Things got a little heated and I ended up telling him and his two mates to get fucked (I know ). This they eventually did.
I doubt that I've heard the last of this and was wondering what might happen next and what would be my best course of action? ____________________ A good loser will always be a loser. |

I was just thinking you should have misheard his entire rant and just responded with a straight out:
"What?! You want me to drive into your car with my works van?! What the hell, I'm not doing that! That's insurance fraud!" and walked away. |

Heck, I had some shower of chancers deliver a car to me with a passenger door that wouldn't shut.
They very reluctantly sent a grumpy monkey to collect it, who spent a good 10 minutes insisting that it would ... [SLAM]... shut fine ... [SLAM] ... if you just closed it [SLAM] properly. [SLAM]
He eventually admitted that I wasn't being a girl and agreed to take it away, but of course hadn't brought anything to secure the door (because he assumed I just dinnae ken how tae work a door, ye ken) and by this point I was happy to enquire as to why that might be my problem when I'd made the problem quite clear. No, you may not "borrow" a bit of rope, grumpy monkey.
So, nearly a year later, my company got a bill through for a wrecked door on the car that "I'd" been driving, and were all "You pay! You pay damage!" at me (Y they no pay damage waiver?). Fortunately I'd done everything by email, including sending one telling the hire company that their driver had chosen to take it away with the seatbelt loosely tied around the door handle, so I packaged it all up neatly and invited everyone involved to shove it.

I caught the side of a hired van on a pillar >= shat myself!
picked up the plastic strip and noted the broken lugs.
Stopped by car parts shop.
Couple of lugs. £2.50.
Plastic strip re-attached, light scratches rubbed back and it was barely noticeable looking for it.
Job jobbed, much relief... |

i had a cbf 600 hire bike turn up, the guy was in a rush took mine away did a quick inventory of the bike and off he went, when i got on it to ride it i saw a big arse dent in the tank at the front, check the inventory paperwork i had and it wasn't mentioned...
rode it round anyway came to being picked up and id forgot about the dent by then untill id heard sucking through teeth followed by him rubbing the dent.
insisted it was there when i got it but he wasn't having none of it...
off to the van he goes to call his boss, half hour later comes back with "thats gonna cost ya" this point i was somewhat irritated that it hadn't been marked on the original form id been given and was a bit hard to see unless sat on the bike, told him im not paying a penny and left it at that.
bike went away with me expecting a big ass bill but got a call the next day apologising as it had been done previously and they hadn't had it repaired yet...
