				| No MOT but no problems with the bike?
If there were no problems then the seller would get it MOT'ed themselves.

				| If it's been MOTed in it's current form, I'd consider it.
If it's had the frame modified it is technically a radically modified vehicle and should have undergone an SVA test.

People sometimes manage to argue the toss that it's been like that since before the rule change (or actually did it that way) in which case it'll have an MOT history and the logbook will match the bike.

So if it's not been MOTed as it is or passed an MSVA, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

To be honest, depending on the extent of frame mods, I'd want to know who had done it.

 So a lot of variables.

If they're offering up a nicely finished chop in a period Uncle Bunt frame or by some other recognised chop builder then snap it up.

If some hipster has gone mental with an angle grinder in his garden shed, removed the mudguards and all the frame lugs then bolted thousands of pounds worth of EXIF fuckwittery to it, I'd walk away.

				| If you know the reg no, stick it into here and see if it comes up with anything. That'll tell you if it's been MOTd since about 2005.
Personally I'd be very suspicious, but then I have a fairly low opinion of most heavily customised bikes anyway.

				| Some chap arrived on a 'bobber' cruiser style thing when I was having my MOT done.
Chassis was modified to pieces with what looked like a hacksaw and a welder.

It had a small rounded wooden seat, and what looked like a fucking car tyre on the rear. The way it was constructed meant there was no suspension so it was just ballbag>wooden seat> road.

He bounced his bonce off just coming down the path, bellend.

Can't imagine what a pothole at 25+ would feel like

Front light and... something on the rear. It needs to have a reflector, tail and brake lights and to illuminate the number plate. Alternatively, remove (maybe tape over) all the lights.

Lack of front mudguard is a C&U no-no, as is that bicycle speedo. Fine for an MOT though.

You'll need a generous chap to pass that exhaust even with baffles in. The number plate should be "fixed vertically, or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical". How secure is the fuel tank and the fillers?

Looks like it'll bottom out on any sort of bump.

Then I'd expect it's got a mahoosive fail recorded against it. If he's got nothing to fear, etc.

I wouldn't bid on it. When his "buyer" inevitably drops out, maybe offer him what the parts are worth, after you've checked it and its documentation out in person.
