Good lord. After that phone call with Bennett's I'm not sure I want to stay with them after renewal Laughing

Seeing as they apparently have no operators to deal with my query right now, has anyone added a temporary additional bike to their policy for a week or similar, and if so, any ball park figures flying around? I know insurance obviously varies wildly etc but I was wondering if it's more of an admin figure or whether they charge through the nose in general

I was looking at using a friends fazer and was quoted £55 admin fee.

I declined, it seemed a lot, but they just said it was a minimum fee to make an amendment.

They said as long as it wasn't a higher group than my insured bike, it was the admin fee only that was payable.

The bike in question is 10% more to insure than mine over a year, but £55 admin fee. Ouch Shocked

Does your insurance not cover you on another bike?
Mine does, but I have to be a full licence holder for 3 years before I can do it.

It does, but only in the UK. There was a possibility of borrowing someones bike for a short stint across the channel

Cancellation Fee

If you cancel within 14 days we will charge you a fee of £30. If you cancel your policy at any time after the first 14 days we will charge you a fee of £50.

Feel free to contest that one on a technicality. Within the statutory cooling off period, you can't be charged a "fee".

But remember that this is 3rd party only. So stack the bike and you will get the bill to replace the bike......

Been thinking about this...
MOT required on bike that's uninsured, off road and SORNed.
Add it to my insurance for a day to get MOT done (and pay as you go, monthly tax that'll be SORNed again the following day) or new policy and cancel after 2 days?
Anyone done similar to save me spending 2 hours on the phone to insurers?

Given the cost and trouble of doing the above.
Might just be easier and cheaper to get Garage to pick it up....

Bikesure does that as well by the way. They charge you a £30 "New Business Fee" if you try to cancel within the first 14 days.

Complete BS if you ask me.
