Hi
New to the forum, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place
Just collected my 2003 Aprilia 125 rs riding it home. It won't rev over 5500 rpm and won't do more than 55, had an engine rebuild last year and has been stood for a while, any ideas please, I can fit any tyre but I'm not a mechanic.
Thanks Andy

Pro tip, sell that piece of shit and buy something reliable, it will rape your wallet until you beg for forgiveness.

Sorry, I can't help with your bikes problem but, try posting in the workshop section of the forum. You should get some help in there. Thumbs Up

EDIT: Ah, I see it's been moved to the workshop thread already. Mr. Green

Hi

Has the cdi been modified?

As standard there is a massive amount of ignition retard between 4750rpm and 6000rpm which causes a big flat spot, so bad it will struggle to pull through it. The cdi can be modified to remove the ignition retard.

Otherwise start by checking the basics. What carb is fitted and what is the jet sizes? Is the air filter clean? What is the compression?

All the best

Katy

Could say the same about the majority of 2 strokes lol. If not broken a thief will be after it everywhere you park it up.
