YBR 125 FI - Idle speed

08 YBR 125, fuel injected model. I need to increase the idle speed as it is quite low and will stall occasionally at traffic lights etc.

After some googling and ending up finding some old BCF posts, it seems the only adjustment is the screw circled in red below.

Clockwise turning reduces the RPM. It is already as far anti-clockwise as it will go.

Is there anything else that could cause it to idle too slow or does this need an ECU mod?

is it happening all the time or just when the engine is cold?

if cold could be a fault with the autochoke or fast idle solenoid from what little info ive dug up.

might be worth giving the connectors a dose of wd40 just incase its water creeping in

and on a total probably irrelevant long shot, how much free play do you have in the throttle? as that can be adjusted too

All the time, not just when cold. When cold it is actually slightly better.

There is a little bit of freeplay in the throttle cable, the correct amount from what I can tell. I really don't want to adjust the throttle cable to keep the idle up though.

I think what your looking at there is the throttle stop screw, have a look at this, sorry sent the wrong one

Could be something as simple as the "O" ring in between the Throttle body and the Cylinder head, Also try this, it is also assuming you have got bracket movement on the TPS

I was having a fiddle yesterday and basically forced the little brass screw from my opening post a tiny bit past where it stops. Maybe 1/16 of a turn and it has increased the idle ever so slightly and it seems fine now. Probably not ideal but it is working great, I can go 5 minutes at near full throttle down an A road and pull up at a roundabout and just let go of the throttle with no risk of it cutting out. Thumbs Up
